Tell me your worst MIL story. Whoever get's the most thumbs up will get best answer. Here's mine:

When my husband and I had our first child, FIRST grandchild for his family, my MIL started crying because she said the baby looked just like me and not like my hubby at all. This p*ssed me off. She looks like both of us. My eyes and mouth. His ears and nose. Plus she is long just like him. I asked her to leave my room because I was tired and the nurse escorted her out.

Ok, my husband stands by me and up for me. He tells his mother that I am his wife and if she ever makes him choose she isn't going to like the outcome. It's not his fault she's a royal b*tch. Oh, and we never let be alone with the baby. I have a bad feeling about that woman. He agrees.

Now listen to this, my dearly departed hubby used to love to slap me around, and we lived in a house in back of my mother-in-law. One evening I was screaming due to his blows, and she ran to our front door, but not to my rescue, she yelled at him to
please make that "B" stop screaming before someone called the
police!!

My MIL is pretty cool but my moms MIL (my paternal grandmother) is extremely religious and is always trying to get us to go to her church. Thats annoying enough. Also, when my step-grandpa (he was like my real grandpa) died she never called us until after he died and she knew he was going soon (he had been sick with cancer for quite a while). We only lived like 2 minutes away and when we got there everyone else was there (except for 2 of his kids and their families because they live in another state) so obviously they were called before he died. That really made me mad because we never really got to say goodbye to him. My dad also offered her the apartment next to ours (which he and my mom own) for half price after grandpa died and she proceeded to paint every single room awful colors without consulting my parents first. Her dogs have bitten my mom before, attacked my moms dogs, and they piss all over the place. And whenever she came over she would comment on my moms cleaning habits. My mom does as much as she can but she has 2 jobs and cant keep the house as spotless as my grandmother keeps hers (my grandmas retired so she has all the time in the world). Also, she used to be a smoker but since shes not now she must think its her job to tell the world that smoking is bad. At my childs first birthday party, she started telling my dad how her sister needs a kidney transplant and how shes not going to get one because she smokes. My dad said, "Well I didnt think smoking really affected the kidneys that much." My grandma replied, "Smoking affects everything. And they're not going to give her a kidney if she smokes. I told her you have to stop smoking. I dont think they should even think about giving her a kidney unless she stops smoking because shes going to ruin it anyway." Isnt that terrible!?

My ex-mil had money and I came from a poor family so she did not except me from day one.

She told me I was stupid, ugly, poor and I was not good enough for her son and I would never be anything in life .

Every time I got into an argument with my husband he would call his mother so I had to deal with her and always made to apologize to her.

Needless to say I divorced him, told her all of my thoughts and now I am rich. I think I need to call that b****.

ok well this is my EX mil... but my husband wrecked our car and we were able to get a rental car. however, the rental car place said we were too young (both under 27) to drive it. so we made an agreement with the MIL that she could drive the rental and we would drive her car until our car came out of the shop. the first weekend that rolled around, she called and said that we needed to bring her car back because her other son (who was 16) wanted to go out with his friends and needed the car. and that she was working night shift so she would be using the rental.

it will be better for both you and your husband to stand a united front against her and her bahaviour towards you and your baby. if your husband is not willing to stand up to her then you will have to find ways of excluding her from your life. if you guys have a land line...get caller id. so that when she calls you can refuse to pick up the phone. if you have cell phones don't give out your number and only give that out to people that you TRUST ONLY. just because people are family members doesn't mean that they are your friends and it doesn't man that they are trustworthy. don't give out your email address or block her email address from your current email address. if she comes over...you leave and take your baby with you. if your husband wants to have dinner at his parents house or with other family members that you know she will be at...refuse to go. just because you are married doesnt' mean that you have to do EVERYTHING together. if she just happenes to show up unannounced...don't let her in. she needs to let you guys know if she is coming over. just because it's her grandchild doesn't mean that she has full reign over it.
