go to the Dr. and get it checked, and yes it can last for a week, i had an attack for days and ended up in the hospital. this went on for 7 month before they found out my gall bladder was deseased. they did surgery and my gall bladder was rotted and dried up i did not have stones so go have it checked out..oh and stay away from fried food it triggers the attacks..

I had 3 gallstone attacks before my gallbladder and stones were removed... my longest attack lasted 9 hours. I could not imagine that kind of pain going on a week!!!! Foods high in fat trigger the attacks... Please go to a surgeon or gastro doctor right away to have an ultrasound of your gallbladder taken.... good luck!

You haven't mentioned if you had gone to the doctor. Are you on medication? If you haven't seen a doctor you should. If he is aware of the situation and put you on medication then it is possible that you may feel itchy as a resulted side effect. If you haven't and you feel itchy it may be possible that your body is sending you warnings; and you should again GO TO THE DOCTOR!
