And when I asked my oldest friend who I've liked for a while now all I got was a "I can't say yes to that just yet" What does that mean? Is it a yes, no or maybe? And what should I do?

Well he does play LAX and alot of their games are on saturdays and so is the prom.
But he's much more affectionate with me then he is with other girls, giving me hugs whenever I'm over and holding me for a few seconds more than he used to. he also offered to take walks or go running with me since he knows I hate doing things on my own.
And when I'm with him. I know I can be myself, and he knows about my harsh home life and lets me run to him with open arms for comfort.

Sorry to break it to you, but I think he likes you only as a close friend, but he is in love with another girl, and he is awaiting her answer. I would guess that "I can't say 'yes' to that yet" would mean that you are potentially his backup, the loyal friend who will always be there if the other chick backs out.

So what should you do? I think you should wait a week for him to respond to you voluntarily, then ask him once more whether he's decided yet. But after that, don't push it. It may be that he is trying to avoid hurting your feelings and your friendship with a bland rejection, so he is delaying his response indefinitely, hoping for you to back off.

In any case, good luck :) Remember the most valuable line in 13 Going on 30: "Love is a battlefield." Just because it might not work out now (your crush does not seem to be showing any real signs of liking you as more than just a close friend) doesn't mean that it won't eventually, and that he won't see you any differently in the future.
