Clipless pedals are those where you clip in to the bike...

Well, once-upon-a-time, road bikers used pedals with some straps to keep your feet on the pedals. While it improved control, it was dangerous when they needed to put a foot down or something.

So, they made a clipless pedal, where you're not clipped it via straps.

What a clipless pedal is a special pedal that attaches to your shoe with a clip or cleat. You can unclip by twisting your foot horizontaly, much like swatting an insect or something.||

these guys up there dont know a damn thing clip in pedals are where it locks your foot on the pedal this increases your speed, pedal cadence, control. so a clipless pedal would have no clips and you could freely move your foot on and off the pedal

pedals with clips usually have a "toe strap" to go around your shoe

"clipless pedals" usually means that your shoes have "cleats" that actually attach (or clip in) to the pedals
