Maybe he doesn't want to be seen with you which would suggest you are not the only girl he is seeing. Go over to where you know he will be on a Saturday and see what he is up to. If you don't then it will drive you insane trying to guess. Even if he is up to nothing then the fact he wasn't available on your birthday should tell you he is a loser.

Drugs. If he's selling them, you should be getting hush money. LOL... Maybe he has a secret job or another girlfriend, or maybe he reads to his granny every Saturday and is embarrassed. Just ask him what's up and tell him you're on the line. Secrets aren't the foundation of a successful relationship. Make him re-celebrate your birthday too. What a sucky boyfriend!

There can be many reasons, in my own opinion I think he is just playing you, he has sex with you and go out on Sat to meet new people, so he is not the right person for you nor you for him, otherwise he would be with you having fun with you on the weekends. One of the ways that you can spot if someone has a significant other is if they come to you to spend time with you on the weekends and holidays. So watchout!!!!!!

Why would you want a boyfriend that can't tell you where he is on Saturday nights? Maybe he's on a bowling league and doesn't want to admit to it.
