My son is 2 1/2 and still sleeps in his crib. He is a mover when he sleeps so I don't want to put him in a toddler bed until he learns how to climb out of his crib. I am amazed he hasn't learned how to do that yet - his brothers could do that before age 2.

2 years old is usually a good time; not before 18 months though unless the child is climbing out of the crib. Better a toddler bed than a broken limb!

I would say it depends on the child, I moved my daughter when she was around 20 months but she was totally ready she was climbing out of her crib. Try to make the change as easy as possible I let her help pick out the bedding to make her feel like a big girl. Have fun!

It should be a personal decision based on the temperament and personality of your child. Some kids are climbers and can climb out of their cribs. Those kids should be out of their cribs early- for safety reasons. My 4 year old was so content in his crib, I waited as long as I could- when my 14 month was born. I upgraded him to a big boy bed.

When they start climbing out of their crib or when they're potty trained so that they can get up & pee in the middle of the night if they need to.

It depends on if the child is ready, my daughter started sleeping in hers when she was 15 months old, if she gets up in the middle of the night she comes straight into our room.

About two. They are a good size so they won't get hurt in a reg. bed. But make sure you put a gaurd on the sides so it doesn't fall off.
