I would say that you should be living on your own at age 24 or 25, by then you should have gotten your college education and should be working full time.

I would say that the only time it is bad to still be living at home is when you have a family of your own. You see my uncle is still living with his mom. He is over 50 has five kids and he is STILL living with his mother. This is kind of pathetic if you ask me. But there are times where ones welcome is overstayed. it just depends on the situation i guess. personally i would not still live with my parents after the age of 30. But i plan to be out long before then.

If you're back at home because of a set-back, then any age is appropriate. Things happen. However, living at home continuously becomes a bit odd as you grow older. The answer is simple. If you can take care of yourself, you should do it. Oh, yeah, if someone in your family needs live-in help, there's nothing weird about being there for them. It's admirable.

That depends. Are they mooching off their parents or are they looking after their parents/helping out around the house?
It's possible to still live at home and still be date-able. A lot of people stay with their parents for reasons more than just being a slacker and having no drive. I have a friend who is saving for a house (while still paying rent) and another who is looking after a sick grandparent (while still paying rent).

I think that is between the parents, and the person old enough to leave, if they wish to, and stay if their parents don't mind.
I do think if they stay they should contribute financially if they are working, and keep up with their own stuff at home.
As far as when is it to old to live at home ?? There are all kinds of situations and circumstances, some we can control and others we can't, so I would say, no age is set in stone for leaving and when and if you do is nobodies business but yours~~~~Jill

Its never too old to live at home. That said, it really makes a difference why you are living at home. If you haven't moved out yet and aren't going to college I believe you should be out of your parents house by 21....You should be paying them rent though from HS grad till you move out. If you were out and went through a rough spot, and had to move home, I say 1 year to get back on your feet unless you are going back to school.

if you have a job and can make enough money to live on your own or with a roomate you should get your independence. But, if you want to live at home and follow all of the rules and pay your share then it's up to your parents if they still want you there.
