Last night I ate shrimp.

Leviticus 11:9-12

9 ‘These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers—that you may eat. 10 But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. 11 They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. 12 Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you.

New King James Version

This is part of the Mosaic Law given to the Israelites.

When Jesus came to Earth he perfectly fulfilled the Law and therefore made it obsolete.

It was "nailed to the stake" with him when he died.

The new law is a law based on the principles of love for God and neighbor... not on endless and impossible rules and regulations.

So - to answer your question - No, it's totally fine to eat shrimp. I love seafood!

If you're an orthodox Jew, then yes! Don't eat any pork either.
But I'm an atheist so i don't have that belief--it's all relative.
