Yes, we should. As you say, "just in case." One could carry a bottle of holy water on the sun visor with an automatic trip device that goes off just before impact. It would serve to blur your vision to so as the other guys grill isn't getting bigger and bigger as he/she comes at you. And then if you survive and the other guy doesn't, you could shake some of the holy water out of your hair onto his dead body. Thereby giving him a "last-rites" sort of send off.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit should be daily.
Jesus often spoke of his word as the water of life. If we drink it up thirsting after his righteousness and not our own then we are assured of abiding in him and have the promise of eternal life.
Water baptism is an outward public display of an inner relationship already going on between the believer and his creator.
We do all because we love JESUS, not because we have to or someone tells us too or else.

Yes, and no.
When you are baptized you are for the moment without sin. But you can only be baptized once.

Baptism has nothing to do with salvation. It is a public expression of faith. The thief on the cross is a prime example of one who was promised Paradise for his trust in Jesus, yet was never baptized.
Baptism is the first step of obedience for the Christian.

No. Because baptism doesn't make you go to Heaven or even get you in good with God. baptism is simply one step of obedience in the Christian life, a way of making know your faith in a very clear way.
What you are describing sounds more like superstition.
