Does anyone know of a border collie rescue in south africa in the western cape?
I had a border collie before so i don't need any lectures on the breed - they are the greatest to me!
I really want to rescue an older one again.
Please any info on a shelter that has BC's in the Western Cape!

Place an add in pet finders and see if that helps. Or a newpaper as someone may be moving or relocating and just don't know how to go about giving it away.

GOOD LUCK in your search.

Here's what I found on google - hope the org doesn't mind.

South Africa

(Active Rescuer, Foster Home, Home Visits, Support Staff, Fundraising. We have been involved with Border Collie Rescue in the last 2 years, since then we have had to find suitable homes for an alarmingly high number of Border Collies. We are handful of volunteers, would appreciate any inputs. One of our main objectives is to educate the prospective BC owner.)

Now then, Borders are fabulous dogs! I had a border collie here in the states. She was my stock dog. Now she takes care of my elderly (85) father like she was his nurse. Honestly, if she could administer medicine and had opposable dew claws, she would BE a nurse!

Just remember to make sure they have a job or they will find one - like herding all the children into a corner and snapping at them to keep them where she puts them. Otherwise, good going. I love Border Collies.

Have you tried a google search for bc rescue in that area? Might be the best way to find one for you.

A wonderful breed and props to you for choosing to rescue one! So sad that people get them without researching what they are getting into, which is why so many end up in rescues every year. Good luck finding a rescue bc!

ADDED: If you have a border collie group/club in your area, you might contact to see if they are involved in BC rescue or can refer you to any.

Not sure if this is close to where you want to look, but this link might be helpful: http://bordercollierescue.co.za/

Why can't you just google search it yourself?
