No. I know many consider it a terrible sport but, it does have advantages. Money for where you are buying the license to hunt. Income for that area. Gas and munchies which us hunters sometimes forget to pack or dont pack enough of. And it keeps the population down so that owners in an area arent inconvenienced with these animals in their yards making a mess and eathing things they shouldnt be eating. And there are many hunters that go on a trip and return home empty handed. its not as terrible as some people think. its actually a good time out for the boys. Peace out...........

No I do not think hunting should be banned. The reason I think it should not be banned is because I for one am a hunter. The other reason I think it should not be banned is it is not juts a sport some people do it for a way of life. some people that do it for a way of life are hunting guides. If the banned hunting than what would the guides do for a job.

No.Its like saying "Do you think breathing should be banned?"
Hunting lets a man (or woman) have a great time outdoors hunting and not saying stupid questions like "do you think hunting should be banned?"on Yahoo Answers.
God put these creatures here so we can HUNT them and eat them. Unless if you are a vegitarian consider this: If hunting was banned, you would not have ever eaten meat in your entire life. Also hunting helps animals from becoming extinct. If the population of deer gets too big (like in Michigan), there is less food for them to eat so a lot of them die from hunger, more people hit them with a car so more deer die, and hunting helps us save the trees. How? Hunters need woods, so they will do anything to save trees so they can hunt.
Think about this, and think about what you said. Because your comment was not intelegent.
Edit: And I forgot to say that hippies where way back in the 70's and 80's, and now its 2007. Go with the flow or go in your hippie van and go eat your salad and sing a song about how corporations and hunting is bad.

Well there is ywo sdes to this debate. i being a hunter myself actually eat the animal, so there is nothing wrong with hunting, and if u are a vegetarian and strongly disbelieve killing living things for food, well guess what ... a plant is a living thing. hunting does nothing wrong to anbody, it is one of the lowest injury sports in the U.S, so no i dont think hunting should be banned.

I'm an avid hunter and I would just like to point out the economic impact of hunting. Removal of hunting opportunities would have a far more reaching effect than just "protecting" animals. Sportsmen actually contribute more manhours towards conservation than "protection" groups.
From http://www.fws.gov/hunting/huntstat.html
In 2001 13 million people 16 years and older enjoyed hunting in the U.S. Those 13 million hunters spent 228 days afield, took 200 million hunting trips and spent $20.6 billion pursuing their passion.
From http://www.sportsmenslink.org/programs/impact.asp
Sportsmen could fill every NFL and Major League Baseball Stadium, as well as every NASCAR track 6 times over.
If Sportsmen were a corporation, they would rank #11 on the Fortune 500 list, above Home Depot™ and AT&T™.
Sportsmen support more jobs than Wal-Mart™ - the country’s largest employer.
While hunting and fishing garner widespread attention as traditional activities, they get little recognition as a major economic force. Too often, when fiscal belts get tightened, the federal and state governments look first to fish and wildlife conservation and management funds to fill other budget gaps. But recognizing how important hunting and fishing are to the economy may make elected officials take a closer look before diverting critical natural resource funding away from these essential programs.

NO hunting provides food and population control for animals if we stopped hunting then the deer population would EXPLODE and then in turn with all those extra deer they would eat more crops. and cause farmers to lose more money in a profession where it's hard for a person to make money if they don't own a few hundred thousand acres.... so NO it shouldn't be banned

I think you should stick to your vegetarian forum. Hunting should not be banned. When I am hunting, the animals have a better chance than the ones that are slaughtered for the grocery store. You treehuggers make me sick.

No CiCi, why?
Do you eat meat, poultry, or dairy products? By this I even mean: Hamburgers, hot dogs, pepperoni, milk, eggs, bacon, ice cream, etc. Do you wear leather shoes, leather belts, leather coats? Does your car have leather upholstery? Do you use feathers in any way, shape or form? Tell me, what is the difference between buying your meat, poultry or dairy products from a grocery store, Mickey D's or the Colonel and hunting? Instead of banning hunting, why don't we: BAN THE CRUEL PRACTICE OF HERDING DOMESTICATED ANIMALS INTO SLAUGHTER-HOUSES SO THAT PEOPLE CAN GET THEIR RATION OF PROTEIN WITHOUT BEING OFFENDED? If someone wants meat to eat or leather to wear he/she should just hunt for it. My family and I would do alright. How about your's?
Best,
H
