How does one get over a fear of needles. i wouldnt go as far to say that its a fear, cause i have no problem getting them. i do hate IV drips though, but its more watching people do things with needles that gets to me. i want to be a doctor, and i have no problem with anything else, but needles just sometimes eek me out, like when theyre stuck in someones neck? thanks

It doesn't sound like you have any serious fear about it. It sounds like your apprehension is pretty normal for someone entering the healthcare field. Just focus and deal with it and push your way through it. It will eventually become much easier and soon become something you barely notice. Best Wishes!! :)

I'm sorry I don't know how to get over this fear, but most of the time, the more a person is exposed to something the less it will bother them.
I can't stand needles either.
Don't like getting them or seeing anyone else get them.

I didn't "like" needles myself, and when I entered nursing school, I learned to appreciate them for what they "really" are. What they really are is a "lifeline" and a fast way to intervene and save someones life by giving life saving med's blood and fluids etc.The one doing the "sticking" with that needle is a hero, starting IV's can be a real challenge and takes skill and practice to accomplish.Take care. i don't blame ya. i can get shots no problem, as long as i don't watch. but the thought of blood being drawn makes me literally sick. every time i've had bloodwork drawn they have a hard time finding a good vein and the more they try the sicker i get. i just have to do my best not to watch, think or even listen to them.

You probably don't, but maybe it'll ease up. I used to hate them passionately, but after getting jabbed many times in hospital once, I'm a lot better with it.
