What do i do to make her more active. Is it normal for this breed? This is the first time we are owning this breed.

It is very normal for this breed, espically if there isnt another puppy in the house. I have two Bassets, one's 6 months (Bandit), and one's 12 weeks (Copper), both are male. Since we got Copper Bandit definatly plays more and has more energy.

That's what Basset's do, nothing! They are normally very low key dogs. If she is so laid back as to be almost non responsive then I'd take her in for a vet check to make sure nothing could be wrong with her physically.
