Calling Child protective services is an excellent idea, especially if she is hig or "out-of-it" and not able to properly care for her children when you call them. If that is the case, they will send a social worker out to assess the situation. This is one way to help protect the children and help show her the consequences of her actions. It may also activate a violation of probation, I am not sure.

Also, do not let her drive the children anywhere when she is using. If she is using as much as it seems, this will create an immediate problem. Tell her that you love her and her children and only want what is best for them. Explain how driving while she is using is dangerous to her, her children and anyone else on the road. Let her know that you love her, but will not let her drive a car when she is using. Unfortunately, she may not listen to you and she probably will get into the car and drive while high. When you see this happen, you can immediately cal 911 and report her for a DUI. Let the police handle it. You just need to make the call to get her picked up, you do not have to stay in the middle. This can start the process of the police requiring her to go to a detox program. A DUI will definately catch her in the act and be a problem for her probation officer.

If she ever passes out from drug use, call 911 to get an ambulance. Let them know she is in danger of losing her life and that might help them to help her into a detox program after she is taken care of in the ER. Also - It s important to keep the children safe. you may choose to care for them or let social services handle that. If she is in the hospital and has sole custody of the children, Social Services (Child Protective services) will have to assess the situation.

I know you care are are afraid for her. I just want to emphasize that the care and safety of the children should come first. Make sure they have solid relationships with you and other family members. They need to know they can go to their family for help when mom is not able to help them. If something does happen that seperates mom from children, they need to feel safe and understand that mom is sick and needs help at the hospital, but that they are safe.

Being depending and or addicted nevertheless potential a similar ingredient. That with out the drug you're depending on or addicted to you'll adventure withdrawal if the drug is discontinued. I have a extreme backbone condition which will finally positioned me in a chair. I actually were coping with it because 'seventy 9. I even haven't any decision yet to take opioid soreness meds as a fashion to stay in any type of convenience in any respect. sure i'm depending on those drugs and therefore am also addicted. that is not by my decision yet non the a lot less so. the guy who stated docs do not opt for to prescribe soreness meds to three as a small form will grow to be addicted is misguided. if you're on an opioid for soreness administration for a month or longer you'd be addicted.it truly is "human beings" who label others addicts, as those who're abusing drugs and characteristic to have them and scouse borrow and what now to not receive them. i do no longer do this. i'm nevertheless addicted to the soreness meds prescibed to me. It does no longer impression my existence in any opposite direction. i do no longer receive drugs from the different source. I nevertheless stay my existence in a common way. i canchronic and keep and do something everybody else can except stay with out soreness.

You can have her committed to a treatment facility. I'm not sure of the exact process, but call your local courthouse, hospital, or maybe an addiction hotline (check the phone book). It's a legal process..she will be picked up in a police car and put into a holding cell for her own safety whether she agrees or not. She will get a hearing with a judge, who will make the decision whether or not she will be committed to treatment. This will be better for her than getting her in trouble with the police. Good luck!

Ouch. Hey, if you report this to child services, will they have to do a drug test to substantiate your claim? That would get right aroudn the laws of catching her in the act.
And maybe scare her into cleaning up.

Try rehab, it can be a long term solution. If you trie the police or child services, she can find ways to make it only short term and get back on the drugs.
