TO SAINT BEE:
I framed the question in the "axis of evil" shroud specifically BECAUSE of bush's hypocrisy and hubris in his referencing other countries in that way.
It's irony.

Statistics suggest that most people generally consider America to be a negative force.
However, some of us here in the rest of the world prefer not to reduce conflicts to "good" and "evil".
Personally I think the USA is great, but its president is a dangerous idiot.

OK where do you live so we can come take over your country? Kidding. Most of what the world has seen about the Iraq war is inaccurate. Insurgents find out where the media is going to be and plan attacks to make the situation look bad. As the world's only remaining super power, we have a duty to lend aid where needed. Do I necessarily agree with going into Iraq in the first place? It makes no difference, I support our Commander-In-Chief even if I wouldn't vote for him (and I know he can't run again). As far as the axis of evil thing... how bout we become hermits and send neither aid nor investments outside our own borders... who's going to suffer for that one? If Clinton (the schmuck) had done his damn job 10 years ago, perhaps 9/11 wouldn't have happened and perhaps the Iraq situation would be cleaned up by now- but let's place all the blame on one man even though a whole group of them make the decisions and have input- good call. Axis of evil- no, and opinion polls are a joke- the questions are asked in a biased manner to get a certain response....

Keep in mind the liberal viewpoints and the muslim viewpoints that are the majority of the BBC. How many conservatives are there in the media to show anyone both sides of what is in Iraq? Anyone posting been any closer than the TV screen w/ CNN watching the war? Ever seen the Iraqis firs thand thank a US soldier for helping them get the right to educate their daughters? Or drive a car? Or listen to music, or worship how, when, or if they see fit? I'll bet not. And that is what it is all about. Everyone misses the point, and it is called "Freedom". No, I don't believe the US government or military is the "new Axis of Evil". Bit I do believe the US liberal media is.

No, I don't see America as an Axis of Evil. We do so much good for the world as well. The problem is that people's view of Bush has been slanted by the press ever since the 2000 election.
Think about this next time you hear someone say America is part of the Axis of evil. If a major natural disaster happens which country do you know you can count on to help, Iran or the USA?
Your being fed lies by extremeist musliums who want nothing more than for the USA to fall because they hate the fact we are FREE to do what we want.

No, the USA is the most self-less and unappreciated country in the world. We are there to protect innocent life and defend its freedom from an enemy that threatens to destroy it and cause serious consequences to the rest of the free world.
I don't know or understand everything about the war when it comes to tactics--and I don't like to see our fine servicepeople killed--but I do have faith in my country to do what is right in the name of freedom. To suggest that the USA is "evil" because we are fighting terrorism is terrorist sympathizing. It is what they want: to break our will and divide us.
Sometimes, statistics reflect what is popular, which is not always what is right.

i agree with what you say, but to put this nation in the axis of evil! is too harsh a statement! our intentions are actually good, but we are going about it the wrong way! it is the arrogance of george bush and conndelezza rice that got us in trouble! this antion needs a president who will actually LISTEN!! TO WHAT OUR ALLIES AND otHERS ARE SUGGESTING AT TIMES! until we get a president that is willing to compromise with others, and once in awhile admit we are wrong, the rest o the earth will continue to disrespect ths country!
