Not all of the foods need to be 'fridge' foods - she just wants to get them from there, and you don't want her to snack so much between meals that she gets full. Try leaving 2-3 things in her reach along with a cup of water and diluted juice. Find a type of container she can open on her own without a mess, wether it is a zippy bay or bowl with a lid. If she cannot do either you can try small plastic bowls with glad press-and-seal (fun for kids and adults).
Finger foods (all toddler size portions) - shredded (messy, but all 3 of mine love them) carrots, various sliced fresh fruits, dried fruits, SMALL pieces of cheese, animal crackers, cheese crackers, any of the Gerber toddler snacks portioned out for her.
Have fun!

I first off would try and break this habit as soon as possible- you dont want her to think its also ok to get into other peoples fridges or even worse the under the sink cabinets-
As for things that are ok- my kids love cut melon and grapes and fruits- also cut little pieces of string cheese make a great snack too. But even my 11 year old knows that you dont go in the fridge without permission.

Cut up fruit and veggies are good, small peices of meat. I would put some cereal where she can get it (not in the fridge). My mom used to leave a bowl of cereal out, and a sippy cup (the old style hard spout that poured reasonably good) in the fridge. And I would get my own breakfast before she got up.
I don't know if I would encourage her to be in and out of the fridge all day though.

Agree with the lady above - my 3 were not, and are still not ( 8 and 5) allowed to take food without asking first. Even now, the bits they can reach in the fridge contain only yoghurt, cheese and fruit. Good luck!!

My little girl love the little baby carrots, well she likes all fruit. I would cut up apples and put in a zip lock bag, if you think your little one is ready for a zip lock bag. My 24 month old can open the bag and get out what she wants and then close it back if the bag has the easy zipper thing. I would say any kinda fruit would be good.

fruit! chop some watermelon or cantaloupe, or have grapes. If you get your kid into this healthy habit now, it will stick for a lifetime plus there is no need to cook it. If you are looking for some cooking snacks try this brand called morning star, it's a vegetarian (healthy) brand that it's actually nutritious to eat. they have mini "chik'n nugets, broccoli cheddar bites and my favorite mini corn dogs. It's all microwavable. This way you can indulge her everynow and then but still knowing you are feedig her quality foods.

That's a tough one for me because we didin't let our kids open the fridge at that age. We didn't want them to learn the habit of getting food whenever they wanted. It worked because now they ask before they get anything. If she likes carrot chips, those are good because they are easier to eat than the sticks at that age. It really depends on what she likes to eat. Good luck.
