It depends on your baby! Watch your baby for cues as to what he/she prefers. Some babies like language toys, other prefer balls and physical toys. Very little babies almost always like bright colors, flashing lights, music. 3 months to a year like toys they can handle and put in their mouths and throw. My babies are 18 months and they like toys they can put things in then take them out, they love balls and toys they can ride on and bounce on and since they are boys like they trucks and things that roll. My daughter at their age liked toys that talked to her and musical toys she could dance to. Just watch your baby and pick up on their own personal likes and tailer their toys to them!

You did not give his age, so it is hard to answer. Nothing that can fit into a film cannister, or that has small parts so that he will not choke if he is under 3 years old.

For tiny born, it should be dolls made of pure cotton and big in size so that she can not put in her mouth.
When he is about two years old, Cars withou sharp edges may be given. Again it should be big enough so that she can not put in her mouth.
