Waht are your goals? How mature are you? The Army will give you a lot of structure. College is very lacking in structure. You can get in all kinds trouble real easy in college. Trust me, I did. Personally, I think the best officers are the ones who spent some time in the enlisted ranks. They really know what it's like to be the low man on the totem pole and have to do all the s%^t work.

Yes, going to ROTC in college for being a cadet without the military obligation in the 1st two years and your decision whether to join the military in the beginning of the junior year or back to civilian during the school time.

Or straight to the active duty, reserves or national guard from the high school graduation, it may start to go there on June, July or August, or some September or some October.

It depends on whether you want to be an enlisted person, or an officer. Go in without college, and you'll be an enlisted person, go to College and enroll in ROTC, and you'll probably become a reserve officer. However, going through ROTC does not ensure you'll serve on active duty beyond monthly weekend drills, and active duty training which is only 2 weeks a year. Also, ROTC types don't do as well as West Point types - they advance slower, and have fewer leadership opportunities.

It depends on whether or not you want to be enlisted or officer. If you go straight in after high school, you would start enlisted. Then after being enlisted for awhile, you could do the green to gold program and go to college and come back into the army as an officer. It depends on you. If you want the army to pay for college, then start as an enlisted soldier.

like army wife said.. but it also matter whether or not you want to be life long or just for a while..... if you are looking to be a life long military professional you may as well go straight to the ROTC and come in as an officer... though your troops will respect you more if you have enlisted time first.. but I wouldn't think it would make enough of a difference to matter....

on the other hand if this is not your life long plan.. you may as well just go in as enlisted.

you would make a lot more money as an officer than enlisted. it doesnt matter which way you go enlisted then officer or straight officer the enlisted will only respect your rank. there are very few officers we actually respect. but the army isnt about making friends. if your going for money officer is always the best. but if your going for fun and fun experiences go enlisted. officers are douche bags.

It depends. If you attend ROTC first you will enter the Army as an officer. If you don't you will join as a private. It depends on your long term goals.

It depends on how bad you want to go to the front lines. If you go to college there is a lot of money for one to go to school on. I am a staunch supporter of education. ROTC? Go if you must, but at least go with some smarts upstairs!
