My 15 month old daughter will take her diaper off and run to the toilet and try to get on the seat. I got her pull ups and a potty chair and she goes to the big potty instead is it too early to potty train she's been walking almost 4 months and she's off the bottle completely is it too early?

She is absolutely not too young!! Consider yourself lucky, lol. I had the same luck. My daughter (now 3) did the same thing. Most kids don't train until they're 2. Take advantage of the situation. And, go straight to the big potty. It's one less change for them to deal with (potty chair to big potty). We went out and let her pick her on potty seat (since her bum was kinda small at such a young age) and she got a Dora seat that fit on the big potty. She was so into being a big girl, I got her out of diapers and into pull-ups. Also, it makes potty training out in public easier too because they can still continue (instead of wanting their chair with them). The seat that fits on a big potty can be put into a bag and carried with you!

Good luck! And, congrats on having what I've learned is apparently a real rare thing to happen. (Personal experience from shocked looks at having a 18m girl that was potty trained.) :)

I don't think it's too early. I was walking at 8 months and potty trained by 14 months. I would suggest getting a stepping stool (one just small enough for her) that way she can go to the big potty. It probably makes her feel like a big girl going to the same potty as her mommy...if I were you....enjoy it, you are very lucky. A friend of mine's little boy was 4 before he stopped going in his undies..Good luck :-)

NO it is not to early to potty train. Most kids will let you know when they are ready to start using the "Big Potty" and that is exactly what your daughter is doing. If she is going on her own then let her do it.

Just face it ... your baby is turning into a "Big Girl" now so dont try to slow her down. Encourage her to use the big potty.

NO, it's not too early. People are nuts who say if you start too early pottytraining won't work. My baby girl has used the potty since four months old. She still wears diapers at night or if we're going out, but she's doing great and loves the potty. Your daughter is definitely ready. She's telling you she's ready; listen to her! Don't use pull-ups if she's ready for underwear; why would you go to the extra cost and trouble? Underwear are much easier for kids to pull down and go.

my daughter developed a great interst in the potty about 16 months old. We got her a potty and she was in big girl panties by the time she was 2. You can work with your daughter, but don't expect her to go or let you know when she needs to go every time

it's never too early to try to teach your kids ANYTHING. our daughter was completly potty trained before her 2nd birthday, but i actually started putting her on her little potty right after her first birthday, just to get her used to it. i didn't really expect her to go on it, just wanted her to become familiar with it. if she wants to use the big potty, try getting her a little step stool so she can get up. we had a potty chair that came apart and the seat would click into the big potty ring, so she wasn't falling in, but there were a couple of times where she tried getting up without help, and had waited too long to go, and the strain on her abs from standing on tip-toe trying to get up caused accidents. having the stool in there was a good way to get her more interested in washing her own hands and brushing her teeth, too. if she's whipping that diaper off to go and she knows where to go, it sounds like you guys are actually done with the training. pull ups so she can get used to having to pull them down instead of ripping them off is excellent, but also try panties during the day when you can pay enough attention to prevent accidents. i think the times when you're most likely to have accidents are going to be when she is too involved with playing or whatever to stop what she's doing to go to the potty before it's too late. we ended up giving away about half of the only package of pull-ups we bought, so you might want to buy one package at a time. we also ended up giving away a nearly full pack of those pull-ups for in the pool. with summer coming up, i would suggest getting a two piece swim suit. trying to peel a one piece off after it's wet is a problem when she's REALLY gotta go, and getting it back on when she's in a big rush to get back in the water is frustrating beyond belief. the sooner you can do away with diapers and pull-ups, the better for your pocket-book! you might want to just do away with the diapers altogether at this point, if she's waking up dry in the morning. just let her know that after the package is gone, no more diapers. make it a milestone for her, a reason to celebrate a little. our girl just turned three, and she does ALL her bathroom stuff alone now, except i will go wipe her after #2. she just hasn't quite got the hang of that yet!

It's never too early, as long as she is ready (and it sounds as though she is). Girls tend to be easier, in general. I was potty-trained by the time I was 13-15 months. My son is 2 and is not all that interested. I think it's great; just remember if you are going to start working, seriously, with her on this that you are ready to be CONSISTENT. Your consistency is key!! Good luck!!

I don't think it's too early. She's at a good age, maybe get her a stool so she can get on the big seat and the Potty Seat that fits on the regular seats.

no, it's not too early. it's great that she is showing so much interest in going to the potty. i've always had so much trouble even getting my little ones to potty train. your daughter is doing great, so encourage her to use the big potty.
