First quit trying to find out why and just deal with now. There are a few simple things you can do to get started that are not too hard or require too much effort. 1. NO SODA! drink only water and low-fat milk. 2. Read the labels on what you are eating. Try to keep each meal down to 2-3 carbs (15g = 1 carb). Also try to keep the sodium low as well. 3. Walk, ride a bike, swim, try yoga, or kick boxing....do something active at least 4 times a week for 30 minutes...and gym class doesn't count. If you want you could even make some money by walking a neighbors dog for them. If you do all three of these things for 30 days you will notice a difference. You'll feel better, your skin will clear up, and you will loose weight. You want to start good eating habits not diet. You can do this...my daughter is and it is working really well for her. Also, with all the other stuff, please talk to your school counslor or a trusted teacher....it sounds like you need someone adult to trust and talk to. Good luck & best wishes hon. Remember, things will get better!

It sounds like your mom is irresponsible, so you're going to have to do this on your own. Be strong; you can do this, but it's going to take discipline. You have to burn more calories than you take in. That means exercise and controlling your meal portions. Additionally, eliminate sugar and any high carbohydrate foods (i.e. bread, pasta) from your diet. Never give up. You do NOT want to go through life obese. You will have small failures, but the trick is to not make them habits. When you cheat, come back even more determined.

I really think someone who is overweight is never happy and that is why they are overweight. We keep stuffing our face (even to the point of getting sick) to feel the emptiness we feel inside. At 14 you can start taking control of your life. Can you go live with your dad (he divorced your mom not you), your aunt, or your grandmother (someplace more stable) Forget about your brother (he obviously only thinks of himself) let him work out his own problems. Forget the "diet" thing! Only eat in small quantities. Never eat junk food (refined sugar, pop, chips etc) Start moving... anything. Never skip breakfast (no eggs and bacon, eat whole grain wheat cereol) Eat fruit instead of candy. Never hope to loose more than 1/2 pound a week. Find a new hobby that you love and dive into it whole heartedly. Make that your center of attention ..not food.

Just go on a diet, I'm 14 and I weigh 123lb, if I feel fat all I do is diet and exercise, you can't just diet, you need to exercise too. And cut back on eating, the more you eat the bigger you'll get.

well, you could try this diet if u havnt already... eat only three meals a day and try to get at least a half hr of exercise, even if its just walking around town. when you eat the three meals dont mount your food on the plate just get a reasonable amount. and theres always god you can confide in for help!
