I dont know on this one. I kind of think you shouldnt. It may come off as looking like you are trying to show her parents up and show off yourself, also it may make others uncomfortable because you brought a gift and they didnt. If you want to give them something before the wedding, do it in private. That would be your best bet to take everyone feelings into account and make it not seem as if you are trying to get a bit of the attention that should be given to the bride and groom.

Truthfully, it seems a little like it would be drawing too much attention to your generosity at a time which is supposed to focus on the couple. In addition, someone else made the valid point that it could make the bride's parents uncomfortable if they were planning on giving their gift on the day of the wedding. It would be lovely if you presented it to them after the dinner. You could just ask them to meet with you for a few minutes after the rehearsal, and present it to them the in private.
I think any bride would be thrilled to be welcomed into a family where her mother-in-law is making such an effort to ensure the happiness of the new couple.

Of course! We got presents from both sets of parents at our rehearsal dinner. In fact, I was so busy opening presents I didn't get anything to eat. :)

Depends on your relationship with the bride to be.
IF you have a mutual close relationship then it will be fine she would be happy. IF you dont have a mutual close relationship she may not like it.

Absolutely! You're a mom. Moms can do anything they jolly well want to. I think it's a wonderful idea.
