- i feel so full of the spirit, so i must be right, or whom base everything on the way they feel. and open there mouth without hesitation because they "feel" they are being lead by god to speak these words. no offence meant because in my early christian days i was a lunitic, and did some outragous things thinking i was led by god. now iam more cautious about things. and have learnt not to trust my senses completely. i have seen it do more harm by bringing down gods name than to have people see him as the right sensible choice, because we as gods people act like complete idiots in front of the whole world. because we reject wisdom (when god wants us to be wise) and sometimes so self absorbed we actually dont think how our actions affect others.-please there must be someone out there that sees this problem and not just me. otherwise maybe iam wrong and have to become a lunitic like the rest of them (and like i once were) to be saved?

You're not wrong at all. You are thinking right. Most of that comes from being "taught" by the church.

Friend, I don't know how long you have been serving God, but in My 37 yrs. I too, at first maybe the first 2 or 3 yrs. had a Zeal, But Then I realized, Hey If I kep my mouth shut & live it, that is the greates testimony there is, i don't even talk about Christiananity anymore unless someone ask me something. I have for at least 33 yrs. said I am the only Bible some people will read, & if I can't live it then why talk it, I just retired from my employer a year ago after 38 yrs. of working, I never had to talk to anyone about God, they came to me because they saw something in my life that the other christians did not have. & when I retired, I had them say it to me personally & even phone called, that they will miss seeing me living a lifestyle that truely fits that of a Christian, I did not asked for any praise, & I even had one that was an athesist, he was dying with cancer, right before he died, he called me, Because he saw also something in my life & he was thinking after all there may be a God. I can only say all this humblely & as my testimony, there is a whole lot more to it.

You are absolutely right. Christians have long lost their ability to seek the wisdom of the Lord. Wisdom and knowledge are the two most important gifts that God has given his people. You can't have one without the other. We believe in the scriptures, yet we do not actively study them and learn the wisdom and knowledge of God. A large number have become superficial Christians. If you get a "feeling" from God you need to be able to back it up with scripture and pray for confirmation from God as Gideon did.

I feel that anytime someone comes up to a Christian and says " I have a word from God for you', that they should always make them say it in front of the Pastor . Because yeah, I have some horror storys about zealous Christians ' giving a word' from God . I have seen people on the edge of dispair because of some well intentioned,or evil intentioned (??) word . . i'll give you an example , my sister, who lost a 2 year old to neuroblastoma , was told by a woman in the Church this : you have to give up all your sin,or you'll never have healthy children . My sister dispaired . My sister said to me, i am living the best way i can . Thankfully the truth will set us free, and with a little truth, such as , well ALL people then should have unhealthy children , because all sin . She pulled out of it . But imagine the people who haven't . I feel you ...

My family goes overboard, in my opinion. I have gotten comfortable challenging them on what they 'hear' from God. If we judge anyone, it needs to be other people of faith. 'Hearing' from God, and speaking God's 'truth' has gone overboard in the Western Church in my opinion.

I don't think this is more than man getting a little bit too excited, and over-stepping their authority in Christ. Man screws things up, not God.

There is a healthy balance, where humility and boldness are both seen, with neither overtaking the other. I don't have any advice of value, except to spend time in prayer asking for direction, and measure all of things man says against God's word.

Christianity is not about being a lunatic. It is about loving Christ and trusting in Him. We of all people should display good taste, patience, love, well, you know all the fruits of the Spirit. Acting like an idiot is certainly not a requirement for Christians. But bring shame to Jesus. Keep quiet until the Spirit moves you to speak, in love.

What you have to realize is that believeing in Christianity is believeing in fantasy land. Do you really think that because a talking snake talked the first two people into eating God's special fruit they incured "sin" and it was transmittted from generation to generation and could only be stopped by God having a human sacrifice to himself? This is looney tunes.

How about this for a mind blower..I am Wicca and my husband of over 20 years is Christian. Not only is he Christian but he is a minister! I have seen what you are talking about, first hand, and the only thing I do is smile nod my head and go on. There are those who are..er..for lack of a better terminology..babies in their belief. I'm not talking about those who have just recently been 'Saved' I am talking about those who have been 'Saved' for years and years. They are still young in their belief because they are too afraid to step up and truly expand on what they have learned. A wise man is he who seeks truth in everything! My husband preaches this to me our four children and our seven grandchildren daily. I find strength in my husband and he in his belief and his God! We may not believe the same, but our goals are the same. To lead all to the truth!
Good Luck
Blessed Be

God is a delusion in your own mind. You were raised to believe in god not born with the knowledge of god.

The bible doesn't explain why animals must die, for they commited no sin, have you ever thought of this question?

Everything we do MUST match up to God's word not our feelings. That's why the close of Canon was so important. Now when we use our feelings we are adding to scripture which is a NoNo!!
