When I bake cookies, I use Splenda instead of sugar. They turn out fluffier and don't harden as fast. My mother used to put a peice of white bread in with the cookies in an air tight container.

Good Luck! ;)

I prefer soft cookies so I am careful not to overbake them. You can try adding a touch more liquid or fat, but recipes are a chemistry so changing one thing can cause problems.

After baking allow the cookies to cool, then store them in an air-tight container. The air dries them out, especially if there is low humidity.

Place cookies in an airtight container with a piece of white bread and over night the cookies will absorb the moisture from the bread.

putting them in a gladware container with a slice of bread keeps them from drying out. the bread gives the cookies moisture, and then when the bread turns hard, put in a new slice.

If they aren't over baked just place them in an airtight container with a cracker....the cracker will prevent them from getting to moist and keep enough moisture in there to keep them from getting too hard.

Simple airtight storage helps.

How are you making your cookies ? Do you use shortening or butter in the recipe ? Next time make two batches, one with shortening/margarine and one with butter. Store as you normally would and see the difference.

Well just put them in an air tight container and they will be soft till you eat them. The oxygen in the air makes them hard

Yes, do store them in an airtight container. Also, melt the butter in your ingredients instead of creamy butter.
