He talks about wanting privacy in his life and being a private person, yet he has all these mega endorsement deals. There is nothing wrong with huge endorsement deals but you can't expect privacy when you go around exposing yourself on tv and using your image to make money. How can you say you are a private person and expect privacy when you court publicity?

He gets uptight when everyone stares at him as if he is not comfortable with it, yet he is the one who creates this by signing these endorsment deals and exposing himself for everyone to see.

He also tries to act like he is more cultured and educated than the typical athlete, yet he marries a supermodel, curses loudly on TV and doesn't have much time for fans. Nothing wrong with cursing or marrying a model or not signing autographs, but don't try to act like an interesting, grateful, educated and cultured person because it smacks of hypocrisy.

Given the choice between Tiger Woods being an example for young people and Tyrell Owens, Paris Hilton or thugs-posing-as-athletes (over-indulged, under-educated and being pimped by their schools), sorry but I have to go with Tiger.

There's a difference between promoting and endorsing products and exposing one's personal life. Running around Hollywood as a talentless starlet minus underwear is exposing yourself to the public. I also have to question why you think he's acting like he's interesting, grateful, educated and cultured; he's a product of Stanford University so he's no slouch. So he's married to a model; big whoop. He doesn't have time for his fans? I think the kids that benefit from his foundation work would probably differ with you on that. Frankly, I think he's set a standard of personal conduct that many athletes, regardless of race, age and sport, would be hard pressed to achieve.

If you had the same talent and opportunity as he's had, don't think you wouldn't be doing the same thing. What person in their right mind wouldn't use their talent to secure their and their family's future?

I think you're the hypocrite, and worse yet, a hater.

I think you're right about the privacy he should expect. He chose a public career, and there are consequences for that. The money and security he earns is supposed to be worth the hassle. At some point in his career it won't be worth it, and that's when he'll decide to retire or cut back on his events.

Not sure if I agree with your final paragraph, though. Tiger married someone who seems to be smart and responsible; the fact that she's a model doesn't somehow spoil all of that. If she were caught up in a bad lifestyle, it'd be a different story. And I think Tiger signs a fair number of autographs given his security restraints. Cameras follow his every move, and he's had his share of death threats and stalkers, so he's not one of those golfers who can spend all day hanging out with the fans. He's kind of like the president: can't really travel around without an entourage unless he's in a private, secure area.

Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest call because of the fact has extra followers/followers than Roger Federer and Tiger Woods prepare and extra. here is why: Cricket has 3 billion followers interior the worldwide of which majority are from the Indian subcontinent. Sachin Tendulkar is devoid of doubt the main established cricketer on account that his debut two decades (!!!) in the past. Tennis has 1000000000 followers with a lot extra decision of real tennis gamers than in simple terms Federer (Nadal, Davydenko). golf has a paltry 4 hundred million followers - so whether Tiger Woods is the biggest call in golf - it does not upload as much as Sachin's popularity. Sachin has been taking part in for two decades. it particularly is extra advantageous than Tiger and Federer. interior the 1990's the whole Indian cricket group replace into surprisingly established, yet provided that Sachin replace into around. Sachin has been the style ambassador for much extra products than Tiger and Federer. yet extra advantageous than any of the above motives. Have Tiger and Federer ever brought about a city of 15 million plus human beings to stay homestead glued to their television monitors? I stay interior the busy city of Mumbai and that i'll in no way forget approximately the day Sachin hit lower back to lower back centuries against Australia - the streets have been empty interior the early evening!! Ok deep breath......1. Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers ever. Do you have any idea what this title brings? Throw in the equation that he is of mixed races. Take a look at what he has done for the sport. Yes it would seem that he can be a hypocrite but if you think about it he is being a man and owning up to his enormaous responsiblities as an ambassador of the game. There are people that are just waiting to find a dent in his armor so they can pounce on him. Yeah he choose this path but I have the utemost respect for him. Ok one last thing all the endorsment deals, commercials, his fathers health and subsiquent death, marriage and soon fatherhood, plus he cant go to the gas station without being harassed......guess who is still the one to beat. Its called mental fortitude.

what?? whatever money he gets from endorsements is an indirect result of the companies using his image and name. you can't fault a guy for that. privacy is everyone's right regardless of whether you are a celebrity or not. is it his fault if the media feeds off his life? it's not. the privacy he is talking about here is his life at home, away from the job, away from all the celebrity status and his being just a son,or just a husband, or soon just a father. the media can do all the stories they want about him being the greatest golfer or his numerous endorsement deals, but they have to respect his life at home.

what does being cultured and educated have to do with his marrying a supermodel? are there any moral laws he disobeyed?

doesnt have time for fans?? do you even know how many exhibition events he does for his fans?

get all your facts straight before you go hating on tiger woods. or are you just being racist?

hes not using his image to make money ...he is not selling himself. He is doing his job which is playing good golf. Keeping his private life private is something that other celebrities should take example from. Why is is that now days we have to know everything that these people are wearing, drinking, eating, driving...etc etc. There is nothing wrong with marrying a model...you cant help the people you fall in love with...im sure he didnt marry her just because she was a model. Signing autographs is a perk but not an obligation. Endorsements from companys to sell products is just a pay check between winning golf game...another job to pay the mortgage.
Tiger is a private citizen and has the same right to a private life that any american has. He wants to "leave work at the office" and have a life outside of golf. Would you want to do your job 24-7-365 with no breaks at all from anyone? Its not fair to him to be constatly at the demads of other people and it is certainly not fair to his wife or kids when he has them.
He certainly has no obligation to prove himself a good person to you or to anyone else. Other celebs would do good to take example from him
