Have you tried using ice? I have always heard that it works. If you take the ice and "freeze" the gum then its easier to get out of the hair. It should just pull out.

Ice it first. I never saw peanut butter work very well but also if icing doesn't get most of it out...start looking at what you can do with actually pulling most out and then snipping the rest. Another option is call your local beautician and take him/ her in there! If it's really going to hack the hair right in front, leave it to a professional. Good luck!

Rub peanut butter or cooking oil into the gum, it will break it down into grainy bits that can be pulled gently or combed out

As weird as it sounds try Ice & peanut butter together...The ice freezes the gum & the peanut butter helps loosin it out to take out. strange brew but with the combination of the two & patience does work.

Rub it out with peanutbutter! The oils separate the gum from the hair shafts.

Cut his hair.

BUT

Only cut as close to the gum as possible, that way you will only lose a small amount of hair.
