JC was whacked by the Romans, the Jews were a occupied nation and did not have the ability to whack anyone.

But according to Christianity he was destined to die a martyr and therefore could not have died of old age.

If we look at this part of history as a political moment rather than from a religious point of view, it becomes much more interesting.

Firstly (spiritually or not) seperate yourself from the idea that the 'Jews' killed Jesus. What killed Jesus could happen just as easily today as it did then. It was the situation and human nature that killed him. If we look at Jesus as an activist that wanted to bring people together under a modernized vergion of Judaism, again, the results given the time and place of these events look plausible. Still wrong, but understandable.

Spiritually there were prophecies of a bringer of light through the Bards/Druids and over seas that ilude to two possibilities regarding this bringer of light. One that he would live and all would be well and the other that he would die and things would not be right. Dark days to follow.

In North America the Hopi/Navaho I believe( maybe some one out there can elaborate more accurately) their history tells of a white brother that leaves North Amercia. A four direction cross travels with him. If when he returns, the cross is still an equal centered cross, all will be well. If one of the lines is displaced (like a crusifix) then all will go badly.

So Jesus was convicted and sentenced to die. Millions of people were murdered in Europe because of the church that developed after his death. The North American story for First Nations was genocidal. The crusades were horrible too!

The Koran is not the answer, nor is any religion or even political ideologies. The answer, is for us do address ideas of power and our lesser side as human beings and evolve to be better than we are through education, comunication and conscious living!

Religions tend to be dominionist in nature. That is a big , big part of what happened to Jesus. Dominionism, both political and religious. Jesus represented the possibility of another dominionist force forming. This is still going on in all the major religions, in more dogmatic quarters, in fact it is cultivated!

It is important to remember, as someone else pointed out here, that the Jewish people were under the rule of an occupying force and face it, they had had a rough time with maintaining freedom for their people. Suffering and opression does things to people.

Yes, as nomadic tribes, they did their share of userping lands by force and blood shed. The vast majority of North Americans enjoy the benefits of stealing land from other people after decimating them! Was it by some 'devine' right that 'non-natives', slaughtered, forced conversion and destroyed culures, families, other religions? . NO! It was ignorrance, arrogance and greed. Many, many people died defending their communities and their territories here in North America. So people, be careful what you say about each other, history tells us there is a lot of dirty underwear out there accross the board!

Love thy neighbor as thy self needs the addittion...learn to love thy self so that you know how to love others! Respect seems to be a grossly misunderstood word. Respecting each other does not mean thinking you are holier than thou or that you or your teachings have the answer for everyone. Live and let live with conscience. Learn about each others beliefs and customs, strive to understand each other without judging. COMMUNICATE...listen.

What if? What if we grow up.
Peace and good luck.

I'm really into history, but somehow missed that one about the Jews whacking Jesus. He was executed by the Romans.
Keep your Koran. And may Allah have mercy on your ah-soul.

God said that jesus was going to die on the cross because he would clear our sins. if the "Jews didn't whack JC"
then you and i would be burning in hell for a eternity of pain torment and personal anguish. Jesus had to die because that was the reason he was sent to earth. and it wasn't the Jew it was the Romans

Well first off he wasn't "whacked" he gave his human life willingly, he did not have to die! and secondly Jesus IS GOD and therefore immortal! And that being the reason he rose again on the 3rd day! Jesus is not dead he is still alive today!

He wasn't whacked by anyone. What a lot of Christians don't understand and misinterpretly hate Jews for the 'murder' of Christ is that he HAD to die in order for them to be able to get to heaven.

It was prophesied that God would send his son to be sacrificed in order for sinners to be righted in the eyes of God. So if he hadn't died, no one would be able to get to heaven. Which is very ironic, since in a way Christians have Jews to thank for 'murdering' Christ. No sacrifice no heaven.

Well, I really don't need the winnings - however, if JC was a perfect human, then he could quite possibly still be alive today if he could avoid the Jewish mafia...

It was prophesied to happen--it was a done-deal from the foundations of the earth. Prophecy is history written in advance, there is absolutley no way you can break it.

No one took His life, He gave it willingly.

Nope his purpose was to bring the christian message by sacriicing himself... Loads of other "sons of whatever god" tried the same thing all over the region for years and years. Sacrifice and immortalise.
