They like meat, deal with it.
I'm a woman and I'd hate to be a vegetarian but my mom doesn't care much for meat and rarely eats it. Everyone has their own personal preference. No call for you to force yours onto others.

My husband has this same mindset. He doesn't complain when I make meatless meals, but I do notice he's back in the kitchen an hour or so later, snacking on something. He's not being ugly about it, saying, "I wish you'd put some hamburger in the spaghetti sauce!" and stomping around or anything, lol. He just doesn't stay full as long if he doesn't eat meat. It's a proven fact that protein is very filling.

Well for a guy to eat a veggie meal or meals , he has to get used to them first. A man works all day and just thinks about what kind of food he will eat sorta liek a HUNGRY MAN. But when he comes home and finds he is eatting a stir fry or just a salad, well after he will say I have to go somewhere and he will go get a hamburger or something to fill him up. But if a man isn't used to just eatting veggies well he will go out alot and eat meat. One of th egolden rules of the MAN RULE is eat meat.

basically, they have been brainwashed since birth, and men are less likely to grasp new concepts (not all of you guys, but the majority) My husband is also unable to grasp the concept of a meatless meal, and thats why we have lived in seperate houses for the last 8 years. Despite his doctor telling him to not eat meat for health reasons, he simply cannot grasp the concept. My 12 year old daughter and I easily made the transition to vegetarian (also for health reasons) and we enjoy it immensely. I think men are just more closed minded, and yes, I do think people tend to think of manly as a "meat and potato kind of guy"

You are so right. Most seem to have this "meat & potatoes" mentality. The next necessity seems to be cheese on everything! I think we are more experimental when it comes to food and women tend not to need that extra full feeling to be satisified with a meal.

My general rules are that if it is cold or vegetarian, it is a snack.
Meat and heat are both required for something to be considered a meal.

I wouldn't say just men. Most of my meals have some sort of meat. I like having a meat (chicken, beef, lamb, pork) with all of my meals (lunch and dinner).

well, meats seem to have more of the "heavy" nutrients like fats and proteins...unlike vegetables which have the "softer" nutrients like vitamins and minerals that just passes by the body after use..
also, meats seem to have more density (and calories) which contributes to a quicker "stomach-full" status...
no scientific basis, but just a perception...

Perhaps it's because we prefer the taste of a nice steak to a plate of rabbit food.
