I get the hot water to make tea from a hot water dispenser. I usually make 500 ml of tea in a time so that I can enjoy more.

I tried glass -> 3 times it cracked when I pour hot water.

I tried stainless steel -> after 2 months of usage the surface looks rusty and sometimes brown substance is seen.

You can use a ceramic or porcelain mug-you can find large coffee mugs in Starbucks or even Walmart. The best container, which is what I use, is a metal and plastic mug-the metal is on the exterior and keeps the tea warm to the last drop, and the plastic on the interior prevents the rust that you were talking about. You can also find travel-size mugs like these in Walmart, but the biggest ones I've seen are in 7-11.

I am from Scotland living in the US. Tea is molto importan to me. I don't know about you but what I drink it out of is real important to the enjoyment of the tea. I use a porceline mug, you can get big ones. They are a big more expensive than ceramic but keep the tea hot nicely and are nice to drink from. If you like glass that is good too but you haveto put a metal spoon in with the glass before putting the hot water, even if you do use a pickle or any other kind of jar. By the way if you don't mind thicker glass and the texture of the glass is not important to you then a half pint glass mug like they use for beer works great, it is durable and you don't need the spoon as the glass is thick enough to take the heat.

If your serious go to a bar and restaurant supply store. Buy a cheap crystal drink stirring glass. It should have a stirrer come with it. Alot of drinks are stirred not shaken, plus they are made to withstand alot of cold and even heat.
