Mahal: WTF!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Where do you get that? My whole point is that it's really NOT good to sacrifice your son.

Do you really want to kill your children?

It has already been done. No need to repeat it. Would be a waste.

I do not know that I would say it was a "good" thing. Rather it was a necessary thing. Sometimes "bad" things have to happen or done for a greater good. Like police officers have to shoot a person to protect the lives of dozens more.

There are many parents who have done that, by permitting their children to serve in the miltary, become policemen, firemen, and other hazardeous positions. And many have sacrificed their lives for other people's sake. Hopefully you are not belittling or degraded such sacrifces. Nor should you when it is God's Son.

In the case of sin, there is a penalty that has to be paid. So rather then have each person have to pay it, God came and did it once and for all. He gave his life so that millions of other would not have to give theirs.

Jesus sacrificed Himself so no one else would have too. Besides only the blood of the perfect lamb of God was sufficient to save us. Not my son, or yours is perfect, so you do not have to even think about this- we should be praising God because of the sacrifice that paid the price that we could never pay.

It's "good" to sacrifice the self for other people's sake. Notice that Jesus Christ did it of his own will. He could've backed out of it and not done it, but he died for us so we could be covered by his righteous blood.

Well as far as I know, Jesus did it so no one else would have to.
