If you are asking strangers on the internet weither you should wait or not I would say your mind is allready set to leave him. No one but yourself can tell you weither you can wait. I would realy think it out. Also keep in mind he may not do the full year. If the jail gets full or if he gains good time he will be released early.
However if his crime is aginst a child leave him and hope he gets what he deserves.

First of all, I must ask if you are married. If you are, then absolutely, without a doubt, regardless of how difficult it may be, wait for him. Marriage vows are sacred, and should not be taken lightly. When you said for better or worse, this is what that meant!!!! Stay faithful, and your rewards will be great!!!!
If you are not married, then disregard the above statement and focus on the next part.
If you really love him and believe that he has learned his lesson, and that when he gets out in a year, things will be different and better, STAY WITH IT!!! Your relationship and sense of self control will be sooooooo much stronger because of it. Love is patient, and so should you be if you truly love him.
If you decide to end it, though, don't guilt-trip or second-guess yourself. You made the decision to call it quits for a reason, and you should never feel the need to justify it to anyone, although you will want to explain to your guy why you are ending it, and that it isn't because you don't care for him, it's just that you don't feel this is the road you are supposed to be on, and that you hope he finds someone who can stick with him and love him unconditionally.
Whatever you decide, just remember that you have to live with your decision for the rest of your life. Think about it, ask God for guidance, and as always make sure to see to it that the Lord's will and not yours be done! My prayers are with you and your guy. God bless!

I think that would depend on what he did and why he is going to jail. Obviously he showed some type of disrespect for the law and now he is paying a price for it. If you decide not to hang on, that's the price he will have to pay for making the wrong choices. If he committed a violent crime against anyone - definitely get away. Did he steal money from his employer (he'll eventually steal from you). Did he not pay a couple of tickets, that showing disrespect and he won't help you out either. If this relationship is bringing you down, instead of brightening your day, it's time to move on.

My bf went to jail a year ago and still has 8 months left. Its hard, very hard. If you really love him then you'll wait. Only you can do it. If you plan on being with other then tell him straight up. What gave me strength was we have a 2 y/o together. My man deserves his family(his son and I) and I have been 110% faithful to him. Find a strength that can help you through. If you ever wanna chat email me jdnsmama1@yahoo.com

if you love him then you'll wait. and like someone said earlier if you cant then be straight up with him. I don't know how it'll be when he gets out but do what you want to do for YOURSELF. Just because he screwed up and is doing time that doesn't mean you have to be in solitude as well. If there are children involved then thats another can of worms to deal with.

No just move on, your heart will heal and you will get over him. Sometimes loving someone means letting them go. Its hard but you can do it! You can find someone else who is better than that guy!
