My family doctor has prescribed several ointments that have not worked long term. Hes sending me to a specialist soon but that could take 2 months. Has anyone had success or seen a dermatologist and what did he do for you. This chronic condition has me off work and is so debilitating.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that your skin condition is so debilitating. I know exactly how to help. Most lotions on the market contain MINERAL OIL! The molecular structure is too large to penetrate the pores of your skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. This causes dirt and debris to collect on your skin, causing irritation and dryness. Products that contain mineral oil get wiped off over time and have little to no benefit. This is why you find yourself reapplying your lotion three times a day. You need a pure water based product to help with your sensitive skin. Water based products will penetrate the dermis and deeply condition and hydrate your skin. Although it may sound silly, Arbonne's Baby Care line is perfect for people with extremely sensitive skin. The have a body lotion and body oil that are botanically-based and pH correct, dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They're formulated with shea butter which is a unique botanical that soothes, moisturizes and protects skin. With its key components of vitamin A and E, all types of skin (including sensitive) can benefit from shea butter’s supreme, conditioning effects. Its non-toxic makeup and skin-tolerable trait make it ideal for use on sensitive skin. You cannot purchase Arbonne through retails stores. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to help you. I think that it's best to try a product to ensure that it's beneficial and works for you before spending your money. Good luck!

It sounds like you have a bad case. I have a slight case of Ecxema and I have started using Johnson's & Johnson's body wash instead of bar soap and that cut my outbreaks dramatically.
I went to a dermatologist and they prescribed Protopic at the time. But apparently you have to switched up your medications every couple of years for it as it becomes immune.

Good Luck!

My family Dr. recently said to use "Crisco" from the can. I looked at her a little strange. My son has eczema on elbows and behind his knees. She said when she attended Harvard they would prescribe this. Put is on at night and put a sock over it. Good Luck.

I have been suffering from eczema since when I was just a kid and none of the many products I tried ever really worked. My eczema kept coming back again because I was never really addressing the root of the problem
Cheers.
