90% HIV (+) are poor
80% never went to college
more than 50 % cant read and write
Most of them are migrant workers of Bihar and U.P. living in metro cities of India like Mumbai, Chennai, Banglore, Delhi and so on and doing job of
truck drivers
rickshaw pullers
auto/taxi drivers
construction and industrial labour
security guards
domestic help
in service and hospitality sector
Women and girls are doing job of Commercial Sex Workers
Children are living as "street children"
Youth are becoming "drug addicts"
Most of them are never tested for HIV in life
many of them dont know what HIV/AIDS is
Yes, its true, pepole at the bottom of pyramids called India dont know what HIV/AIDS is ?
Its spreading at alarming pace in diffrent regions across population of India
If correct measures are not taken by goverment the eraliest situation will get worse, economy and development both will be affected and there will be massive burdon on public health.
Goverment of India must act now

All those who says HIV/AIDS is not a threat or a serious public health problem dont know what is the reality, situation on ground.
Those who die because of AIDS related symptoms don"t really counted as death due to HIV/AIDS.
They die bacause of
TUBERCULOSIS
severe weakness
weight loss
prolonged fever
diarrhoea
skin infection
difficulty in eating food because of ulcers in mouth
or because of some other symptom.
Nobody count them as death because of HIV/AIDS
Poor in the country often do not get addmision in hospitals or they send home by the hospital after possible medical assistance as nothing much can be done after an extent and they die at home.
Very few AIDS patients die in the hospitals.
There is no mechanism to count how many casualities happened in a year due to HIV/AIDS.
I work with and for them, whatever i have said is my observation of last 5 years.
