There is so much good info out there. The truth is so simple. To be fit and close to ideal body weight you must eat healthy reasonable meals and get some sort of exercise a few times a week. Genetics does play are role and determines how close you have to watch you diet and how much exercise you need during the week to stay in shape. There are some medical conditions that will cause a person to be big or small but those are not the normal cause of weight issues in America today. You do not have to be on any special diet, or have some special work out video to loose weight. Diet pills can cause temporary movement in you weight but are not long term fixes and can have very negative effects. Like most things in this world if you have is some motivation, self discipline, and education on the issue then you have everything you need to be a success. You do not need to pay $70 to clean you colon or $50 for a bottle of pills. Why is this so hard to accept for may people.

Eating healthy and exercising is difficult for a lot of people. They want an easier way out.

I absolutely agree with you - diet and exercise are the way to go. BUT - people will always look for - and pay for an easier way.

And as long as they are willing to pay - there will be a HUGE market for weight loss products. It's called supply and demand.

I agree with you. I think it's hard for people to accept the truth because they're stuck on quick fixes, not long-term. They don't want to put any effort into a healthy lifestyle. They want immediate results, that's why liposuction is one of the leading cosmetic surgeries performed today. What people lack most is a work ethic and education. Fortunately, I've been reading more and more articles about just what you said: you must eat healthy reasonable meals and get some sort of exercise a few times a week. It really is that simple, some people just don't want to have to work a little for it. What they don't realize, is that it doesn't take much to be healthier, and exercising for 30 minutes 5 times a week is NOT impossible to fit into anyone's schedule. It's a matter of whether or not they're willing and whether or not they'll trade in the double cheeseburger for something healthier (and probably tastier).

These misconceptions are fostered by big business; they have to maintain their customer base, so they play on fears and promise easy solutions. Unfortunately, many people who are prone to despair and grasping in the dark will fall for these schemes. They are nothing more than smokescreens and an artifact and underlying base for the culture of mass consumption. Business must keep consumers consuming; when something threatens, like bad health (which would shorten a potential consumer's viability in the market), one must offer the illusion of a cure and a quick fix to keep that consumer available and suckling off the corporate teat in a new and profitable way--diet pills, exercise machines, videos, antidepressant pills, what have you. It isn't that the corporate giants want to keep the simple truth from the public--it is obvious and there for everyone to see. But since it is not an easy path, the corporate giants want to offer shortcuts that will distract the earnest from the simple path and put him or her on the road to being a lifelong consumer.

The problem is, with everything we have done to our environment, and all the products we put out to the public, your putting things into your system that your body doesn't want in it. These things include, but are not limited to, pesticides, growth hormones (in cow products such as milk and meat), chem trails (from jet fuel in the air), harmful fumes from cars.... the list goes on. with this in mind, it is almost impossible to be 100% healthy, unless you do cleanse your system out. Your body ingests these toxins, and yes your immune system sees these unnatural things in your body as toxins, and tries to fight against this. This actually weakens the immune system. Did you know, to get the same amount of nutrients from an apple that was grown 50 years ago, you would have to eat 20 apples grown today. Many things have changed in our evolution and the world is not as pure as it once was. The body can only be as pure as its environment, this includes things around us, and things in us. In this day and age, you cant even run outside with out inhaling chemicals.
