Sure give the old gal a bath. You can use human shampoo but dilute it by 1/2 strength with water. Make sure you really rince her well, any soap left in her will irritate her skin and she'll start to itch something awful.
If you can try to bursh her too.
Good luck!

Give her a good brush first and get rid of any loose hair and undercoat.
Make sure there is a non-slip mat in the bottom of the bath or she might panic.
Use some really mild regular shampoo, and dilute it with warm water in a jug before applying it. If you're got a bath scrunchie (nick your wife's) they are great for distributing the shampoo through the coat. Start and the back end and work to the front, then rinse from front end to back. This means the shampoo is around her eyes for the least amount of time.
Don't get any water in her ears, put your thumb over the hole while you rinse.
Make sure you rinse well, don't leave any shampoo or it will irritate her skin.
Towel well, or she will get cold. You could see what she thinks of a hairdryer, but make sure it doesn't get too hot.
Easy!

i'd advise against using normal shampoo... and be warned that not all dogs like baths!! Mine hated it and it was a job to get him into there! and also they like to shake off all the water onto whoever gave them the bath, so make sure you don't wear you best clothes (or get someone else to do it!!) If you want to make sure it's done properly you can take her to a dog grooming place and they'll bath her with the right shampoo and they're used to having water shaken all over them. Definately hire or buy a carpet cleaner though!! :D

You can bathe her. I'll wanr ya, though, jumping through puddles is NOT the same as a bath. Be gentle. If you have to use a human shampoo, you can, even though it isn't formulated for a dog's skin and fur. Make sure you rinse her VERY well, or she may like what's left off and it'll get in her tummy. Plus, if not rinsed properly, it could harm the fur.

Well yes you can use normal shampoo but you can also buy dog shampoo which i would recommend. First start by hosing her down( in the garden) ofcorse then rub on some shampoo and hose her down again when that is done give her a quick dry with a towel and she will shake the rest off.

Using a regular shampoo just this once is not going to harm her skin--just be sure to rinse very thoroughly. Be sure to brush her before the bath to avoid increasing her tangles. A temporary alternative to a water bath is a little cornstarch brushed through her fur. This is a trick sometimes used on dogs when just their faces get dirty.

You should bathe her. It is much better to have a clean dog. It is probably best to use dog shampoo but people shampoo will work too if your dog doesn't have sensitive skin. Just make sure you rinse your dog well. Good luck!

i would get a real old towel and give her a good rub over and then brush her later if shes not your dog a would not bath her unless i spoke with the owner you could you give them a ring and ask she may hate bathes and you could end up regretting it also when you bath a dog they tend to shake we always try to get a towel over owners but some how he always mangers to shack water everywhere if you do decide to go ahead we always use a very mild shampoo and never wet there face good luck

could do, but use a dog shampoo, it has different chemicals and oils in for thier coats. Or send it do a grooming parlour, they come out lovely, shiny, supersoft and smelling nice and are not very expensive either. Would the owners be offended ?? its like saying you have a dirty dog. But it will be nice for it.

use dog shampoo. human shampoo might irritate her skin. it would be really nice of you to give her a bath. if you don't want to do the hassle, you can buy some pet wipes or even baby wipes and wipe her down before you hand her back to the owners.
