I don't think it's the salons fault. Unfortunately, when you start layering hair colors, you never know what shade it will turn out to be. My advice is to live with it for a month or so before trying anything else. Personally, I always go to the salon for anything more involved than a brown shade of semi-permanent. Even then, with at-home dye jobs, you take your chances. Generally, people end up spending more time and money correcting the problem than if they'd just gone to the salon in the first place. When you're going from brown to blonde, ALWAYS have a colorist do it. They have to remove all pigment from the hair before dying it the blonde of your choice. That way, too, if you're unhappy, the salon should correct the problem free of charge (if they're a reputable salon). I have used at-home color removers before, but I really don't recommend it, especially if you've processed your hair more than 2 times in 2 weeks. If you absolutely insist on trying, have a friend do it; if you miss spots on the back of your head, it's gonna look really awful. Coppery red hair is better than broken off damaged hair, keep that in mind. Your hair can only take so much processing before it gives up and you and totally breaks off. Stay away from blow drying, curling and flat irons etc. if you can at all help it. For deep moisturizing, I recommend Nexxus Humectress conditioner and Kiehl's Silk Groom styling creme.

You are naturally light ash/white blonde... Did your hair turn gray or greenish when you went back to blonde after dying it brown?.. If it did what the salon did was put red/orange in your hair. Now that it is not brown but that gingery blonde I think the best thing for you to do is
To be brown get a color with no peroxide or ammonia in it and pick a dark warn blonde or a light warm brown... The dark warm or golden blonde should work to make it more brown without more red.
To be blonde again you can try a bleach shampoo as long as you don't need to go up to many shades. Bleach shampoo is done by buying a bleaching powder that goes on the scale like wella brand from sally's beauty supply and then mixing enough with shampoo. Apply this to wet (not dripping wet) hair and watch it good to see when it comes up light enough. Just don't go to far past the yellow blonde stage or you will turn green. Then if it is not the color blonde you want put a toner on it (a light blonde) but not ASH BASED or VIOLET BASED and use a low volume peroxide like 20 vol maybe.. good luck

I had to have a color correction done and the same thing happened with the coppery color. Probably if you decide to dye your hair again you should stick with boxes that actually say "ash" because they have less of an orangey tone to them. To speed up getting that color out of your hair go buy little kids swim and sport shampoo and some really good conditioner. The shampoo is good because it will start to strip your hair and you will need the conditioner after it gets dried out. As for going back to the salon, its a good idea since they know whats best but if they cant do anything it will be another waste of money. Try going to a beauty supply store and talking to the girls there about toners for your hair. That can really help in subtle ways. Good Luck!

you have to tell the salon that your hair pulls all the red in hair color. So, when they mix it, they have to use less red. that is what I have to do because my hair shows up orangie /reddish if I dont tell them. I ave made that mistake a couple of times.

there are over the counter color removers. I have no experience with them, but you could try. It is supposed to remove all dyes. and then you can dye it what ever color you want. color on top of color does not last. good luck!
