His looks may not be spectacular (I'm not going to lie), but he has the most phenomenal personality.

He adores me, and loves to spend time with me. He is a kind of romantic, so he writes me stories, and poems and always flatters me. He even asked me what flowers I liked (I suspect for when we date again).

Actually, the first time we hung out, I thought I was just hanging out, he considered it a date. :)

He's told me many things about himself, and I think it is all so adorable.

I just cannot tell if there is physical attraction here. I am crazy about this guy b/c he is so sweet, but he shows a lot of insecurity... Does confidence in a man make him more attractive (he lacks confidence in himself).

Don't let this one get away. He sounds exactly like my late husband. When I realized I was in love with him I fell so hard and I stayed that way until the day he died. There aren't a lot of men like this, so enjoy it, revel in it, let him know what you think of him. It might be the most wonderful thing you ever do.

I think you are just infatuated with the guy because of the attention he is showing you and because the relationship is new. However, as time passes, the novelty would wear off and if you are not physically attracted you may not find his company appealing, also you indicated that he shows a lot of insecurity and lacks confidence, these qualities are not to be ignored since it may be that if you decide to end the relationship there is the possibility that he may not accept your decision and try to make your life miserable.

This guy probably is wonderful

But dont fall into a relationship just because someone is lovely. I dont mean to sound harsh. I was with a guy for two years just because he was lovely. Kind, charming, funny and clever, really fantastic. I even kidded myself that I loved him and we planned a life together, but it turned out that I really didnt have the physical attraction to him that I should have done and loved him more as a friend than anything.

It really hurt to leave him as he felt like my soul mate, but in the months leading up to our breakup I felt myself being attracted to more conventionally good looking/sexy men. I new it would end in disaster.

Tread carefully...he may be perfect for you but dont be blinded by his kindness. Is he lover or friend material?

He seems like a sweet guy to me , But i believe what a person should have is self confidence .
If you like him so much you should help him on that front.
He's acting the way he is cause he's probably crazy about you too !

maybe he is so nice, because.... well, he is a nice guy!!!!
give him a chance. what have ou got to loose. even if his looks arnt the greatest. help him out. go get your hair cut, and ask if he wants to tag along, convince him to get his cut, and help him pick the style. next time you are shopping, pick out a shirt that you like, and get it for him, then just give it to him, and say, i thought that you had to have this. i saw it, and it was screaming your name. just little stuff. and once you get a few things in place, (since you are already happy with the person inside)he willbecome more attractive to you.
