It could be something as simples as a cyst, which I have gone through, or a myriad of other diagnoses. She may need some type of x-ray from a dentist or a doctor. It may just need to be lanced or treated with anti-biotics. A dentist may need to get in there and drain it. If she has had it for more than a week or so and there is no improvement seek medical attention immediately.I repeat, it could be something simple, but you should not be taking any chances. Good luck and good health to you and your daughter!

It appears like a swollen lymph node, besides the undeniable fact that the reason does no longer be an infection. Lymph nodes many times swell at the same time as they are being immunologically challenged. They produce many of the body's antibodies, and the swelling is variety of a demonstration of operating previous accepted time.

it might be an infection, a tumor, or just a fatty lump!
i do suggest you to bring her to a doctor, with no delay.
if it's located on a nerve, it might hurt the nerve. or if it's an infection it should be cured immediately. less probable is that it's a tumor. so right now, ask her GP for an appointment.
