i live on a 28 acre farm my neighbor lives on the other end, has a son that is 2 years older than i am, and i really like him. i am 16 (17 in like 3 months) and he is 18. i really like him, but i dont want to put any pressure on him to ask me out, because of his up bringing. he recently asked my mom for her premission to ask me to dinner or a movie, and she said that was fine, but he said that he would also like my fathers premission, and he is kind of afraid of my father. my father is really protective of his girls. how do i give my father the hint, that this is somthing that i want, or give the hint to the boy, that it is okay to ask?

If he's 18 and you are 16, how does he have a son 2 years older than you? Do you mean he has a 2 year old son?

Just tell him to ask. Talk to your mother and ask her to soften up your father. Make sure that on the first date, you come home on time and don't break any rules. That will go a long way towards winning your father's trust.
