How can I get my 3 yr old to listen, without me having to yell at her?

yelling is not really a good solution though we are all guilty of it-i have a 3 year old-i think this is an age thing-eye contact and firm tone good luck

All of those answers are great. I was a pre-school teacher for 10 years...taught 3 year olds. I used both of those and they were very successful.. Unfortunately, when it came to my 3 year old...they haven't worked so well. I even took him to the Dr for a hearing test to make sure he was just ignoring me.....and there wasn't some other underlying problem. he is fine...just very strong-willed. I have to use more of the second approach for my son.

Get down to her level, make eye contact and let her know u mean business. Always be consistent. She's testing u to see what she can get away with and how u will react. Children are always testing there boundaries.
