Trail mix. Everyone gets to pour something into the mix. pretzels, marshmallows, cheese curls, cereal, peanuts, raisins, - anything you want to put.
we did this w/ my Brownie troop - it make a huge amount, we had a giant bowl to mix it and brought ziplock baggies so everyone could have their own serving.

This recipe is a take off from the campfire s'mores.

About 10 graham crackers broken into postage stamp size pieces
One package of milk chocolate morsels, melted in microwave
One package of mini marshmallows
About 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (optional)

Melt the chocolate morsels. If using peanut butter mix in with melted chocolate. Add broken graham crackers & mini marshmallows. Stir well to coat all pieces with chocolate. Place in pan (size depends on how thick you want the bar), smooth, place in refrigerator till set about 30 minutes. Cut into desired size bars & serve. Really yummy! My teenagers still ask for this to take to sleepovers.

How about self portraits? Use rice cakes or cut slices of bread into circles or ovals and spread with peanut butter or spreadable cream cheese. Add facial features with a variety of things, such as candy sprinkles, shredded carrots, raisins, etc.

Fossil Prints
For each serving:
Ritz cracker, spread with sofented cream cheese
Gummy dinosaur, goldfish cracker, or celery leaf
Spread the cracker with the cream cheese and place one of the other items into the cheese. Lift to reveal the "fossil".

My class enjoys peanut butter and honey sandwiches. We cut them into differant shpes with cookie cutters (makes sure you don't have any peanut allergies in the room, though!)

Mix food coloring in milk. Use the colors to paint faces on sliced bread. Allow to dry then use for sandwiches.

Spread peanut butter in celery sticks. Add raisins for bugs on a log.

Use chocolate pudding, gummy worms and broken up oreo cookies to make buckets of 'dirt' with worms for dessert.

PUPPY CHOW FOR KIDS

1 box Crispix cereal
1 c. creamy peanut butter
1 stick butter
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
Powdered sugar

Melt peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips together, you can do this in a microwave. Pour mixture over Crispix that have been evenly poured out in a 13x9 baking pan. Toss gently until all Crispix are covered with mixture. (It looks awful at this point.)
Pour generous amount of powdered sugar in large brown supermarket bag. Carefully pour gooey Crispix mixture into bag. Close bag tightly and shake. Let powdered sugar settle down a minute before opening bag. Serve in a large doggie dish.

Fabulous Fruit Kabobs

some fruit, like maybe pineapple, strawberry, grapes and melon
wooden skewers
shredded coconut

Cut all the fruit, except for the grapes, into bite-size chunks.
Then put the pieces onto the skewers, one by one.
Roll the skewer in coconut. Voila!

Layered Popsicles

3 different kinds of juice, you can use any kinds you want
medium- or jumbo-sized muffin tin
aluminum foil
popsicle sticks
knife

Pour the first layer of juice about 1/3 of the way up each of the muffin tins. Remember you need room for two more layers.
Tightly cover the entire tin with tin foil.
Then, take a knife and carefully make a very tiny slit in the center of each muffin tin. Don't make the slit any bigger than the width of the popsicle stick.
Put a popsicle stick into each slit.
Make sure the sticks are standing up straight and place in the freezer for about 2 hours.
Take out and carefully remove the aluminum foil. The popsicle sticks should be frozen in place.
Add the second layer of juice. It's best if you use one that's a different color than the first.
Refreeze the tray for another 2 hours. You don't need to cover it with foil.
Add the third and last layer of juice and refreeze for another 2 hours.
To get them out of the tin, put the muffin tin in a shallow pan of warm water.
After 20-30 seconds, the popsicles should be loose enough to remove.

Dino Dessert

1 slice of watermelon
3 strawberries sliced in half
1 small piece of banana sliced in half lengthwise
2 half-circle slices of an orange
1 raisin
knife
plate

Check with a grown-up before you start this.
First, carefully cut a watermelon slice in half and put it on a plate. This is the body of your dinosaur. The watermelon rind is his back.
Put the strawberry halves on top for his plates.
Then, use half of an orange slice for the head and a raisin for the eye.
Take the other half of the orange slice and separate the segments, but don't cut through the peel. This is your dino's tail.
For its legs, take a small piece of banana and slice it in half lengthwise. Put the banana legs below the watermelon.
And there you have it, a "dino-mite" Dinosaur Dessert!

Edible Spiders

round crackers
peanut butter
chocolate chips
mini-pretzel sticks
knife
bowl

Take 1 round cracker and spread peanut butter on it.
Put 8 pretzel sticks on top of the peanut butter for the 8 legs of the spider.
Then, put the other cracker on top so that it makes a sandwich.
Using peanut butter as glue, stick two chocolate chips on top of the crackers. These are the spider's eyes.
Eat your spider!

Lettuce Boats

large romaine lettuce leaves
your favorite salad veggies like chopped carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red peppers
croutons
your favorite salad dressing

Check with a grown-up before you start this.
First you need to wash and dry your lettuce really well. The ZOOMers used romaine lettuce because the leaves are really big.
Take your lettuce leaf and drizzle some of your favorite salad dressing down the middle. Thicker dressing, like ranch, works better because it won't run down your arm when you're eating your lettuce boat.
Now sprinkle on some of your favorite chopped veggies like carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, red peppers-whatever you like!
Add a few croutons.
Fold one side of lettuce over the add-ins and then fold the other side over like a salad burrito.
Now your lettuce boat is ready to eat. You'll need to eat it right away so the croutons don't get soggy. It can be a little messy so might want to eat it over a plate.

Peanut Butter Bees

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon softened butter
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/8 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
small handful of sliced almonds
medium-sized mixing bowl
wooden spoon
plate covered with waxed paper
small microwave-safe bowl
small resealable plastic baggie
scissors

First, wash your hands.
Add the peanut butter and confectioner's sugar to the mixing bowl and cream it with the butter. Mix it until it is smooth.
Then, mix in the graham cracker crumbs.
Shape the dough into 1-inch ovals.
Put the ovals on the plate covered with waxed paper.
Now for the stripes. Microwave 1/8 cup chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl for about 15 seconds.
Check the chips every 15 seconds until they are melted. Then, put the melted chocolate into a resealable baggie.
This is a great way to make a homemade pastry bag. Make sure the baggie is sealed, then cut a teeny hole in the bottom corner.
Gently squeeze the baggie and put stripes on each bee. Don't squeeze too hard, or the chocolate will look too messy.
Then, put two dots of chocolate for eyes.
Add two almond slices for wings.
