Yes. Those are the corresponding pay grades.
0-1: 2nd Lt.
0-2: 1st Lt.
0-3: Capt.
0-4: Major
0-5: Lt. Col.
0-6: Col.

and so on.

There's two scales of rank in the military -- the E-# for enlisted and O-# for officers.
An O-6 in the Coast Guard would be equal in rank to an O-6 in the army. Yes, O-1 to O-3 in the army is 2LT, 1LT, and CAPT. In the USCG, its ENS, LTjg and LT. This system's just easier to use when dealing with more than one service, like pay charts.

Depends on the service. O-1 is an Ensign in the Navy, and a Second Lieutenant in the Army. They start at 0-1 and go up from there.

2nd LT 1st LT Captain Major LT Colonel
Colonel Brig General Maj General
LT General General

Well the "O" and "E"s are covered. Now to throw another one in there... "W"s for Warrant Officers. At one time in the Army there were the "SP"s or Specialist Ranks. Which went from SP4 thru SP9. Currently there is only the SP4 left. I think that about covers it for the Army.

It depends upon the branch of service.
