OK. Zopiclone is an extremely addictive sleeping pill. Sorry you are to some extent too late when you ask the question, it will already have happened. If you take Zopiclone on 3 nights in a row and then try not to take it on night 4 you will experience withdrawal.

Sleeping pills DO NOT HELP TO ESTABLISH NORMAL SLEEP PATTERNS. They tend to make the pattern much worse. They rapidly teach the body that it does not need to switch on sleep mode, so the body stops doing this and then very quickly always requires the pill to turn on sleep. It has also been demonstarted that patients on Zopiclone long term only end up sleeping for 30 minutes more per night than they did before they started the pills!

Zopiclone only has a short term usage licence for less than 4 weeks use! The maximum dose is 1X 7.5 mgs/ night.

I believe your doctor was wrong to prescribe this medication without explaining the risks to you, he was also wrong when you 'bothered him again' to advise you to take 2 tablets again without warning you that this is above the normal recommended dose.

I think you should be very careful who you next see when trying to get more help.

OD as in die or become intoxicated , any way you could probably take about 5-6 maximum, but then you'll run out wont you,(not a good idea so don't do it) then you'll get withdrawl , SO go to the same dr tell him they not working if he doesn't want to prescribe anything else that's fine i'll tell ya what to do next, What you really need is a benzodiazipine like temazepam, nitrazepam(mogadon) these are really good, So go to different docs till you find one that will prescribe. Now hopefully that all goes well now you need to learn how to take less some days and more other days cause once you have a tolerance you need more and more for same effect. Another option is an anti-psychotic drug called serequel (quetiapine) a heavy tranquillizer. Prescript only, only take as directed, they're not to get high only to help you sleep o.k. By the way I'm addicted to temazepam and valium but I never over dose on them cause i need them to last me (not run out), and Ive had an OD before of narcotics and vodka and it put me in a place where i dont want to go again.

Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it’s good for you!! I was shocked at the effectiveness in putting me to sleep. If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. Must take the sublingual kind from GNC for potency, should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening.
God Bless
P.S. after you try it and it works don’t forget to tell others about it. You could be saving someone else’s Sanity

You can QUICKLY become addicted to sleeping pills, and the withdrawal from them is long and difficult. Be wary and consult your GP! Why can you not sleep without pills? It sounds like you need some other way of coping. Sounds corny but yoga and relaxation techniques work with practice & determination. Try & find out more! Good luck, from someone who's been there!

I used to take these tablets and they are meant to non additive. Also I was in a casualty department getting treated for something else, whena patient who had taken an overdose came in, the docs didn't really want her in because all she would do is sleep them off with no lasting effects. But I would advise you to go back to your docs and say that this tablet doesn't seem to be working that well for you.

I would call your doctor's office back and let them know that you are taking three now. If you have to take more than three after a period of time, the chances are, your body is adjusting to the dose and you, like you suspect, need more to do the same as three had done. If you fear dependency, I would suggest talking to the doctor about taking the sleeping med they advertise on TV that is non habit forming (Sorry. I forgot the name. I don't take sleeping meds myself and so I remember hearing the name, but I don't recall what it is.).

You need to tell your doctor exactly what you just told us. If you feel you are becoming addicted then you probably are. Go and see him straight away and maybe he can prescribe something more suitable for you. Is there a reason you are not sleeping, are you an insomniac or do you have noisy neighbours for example? there may be other ways to solve your sleep try www.kalmssleep.com for some advice

Jane the Zopiclone is obviously NOT suiting you hunny and you need to get your meds reviewed asap. No one should be taking 3 before they go to sleep. Go to your GP and ask to be reviewed.

You need to call your doctor again. Never take more of any drug than prescribed. Yes, you WILL become addicted. It's a derivative of Valium, one of the most addicting medications out there. And stopping them suddenly can cause seizures--so you have to have your doctor ween you off slowly when he does.
