Tonight while walking back to my house, just about EVERY dog barked. Is there a reason? This has never happened. Even the little tiny dog which never ever barks, did bark! :(

Can someone offer an explanation?

dogs can definitely hear/sense things that humans can't. i doubt it was a ghost they were barking about, but they probably heard or felt something that you didn't.

my sister lived in a house with a ghost. the room was colder. the lights would flicker on and off. and weird things would happen around the house if you talked about the ghost, like a finger would run down the blinds. no one liked going into the room. not even their dog rudy. rudy wouldn't cross the threshold of the door. even for a treat. he didn't bark at the ghost though. i think he was scared of it.

They probably were just all barking because every other dog was barking.

it's probably follow the leader barking, but my dog freaks me out when I take him with me to my husbands grave: he yelps and jumps until I take him away. I leave feeling like the lion "I do believe in ghosts"!

A ghost hm? maybe, but most dogs have really good hearing, so maybe they heard another dog? also, animals act funny when a natural disaster is about to occur, so that might be it.

Dogs, cats and horses are among the animals that can sense spirits. Does this mean I think the dogs in your neighborhood sensed one? Not neccessarily. They could be reacting to a change in weather, or sensing soemthing about to happen (earthquakes, thunder and lightening storms, changes in atmospheric pressure, etc...)

Dogs can see things and hear thing that a human can not, and they also have sinces that we don't so it could honestly be anything.
