It depends on how both of you feel about each other and if you both feel very strong. Then yes it can last real long especially if you get to see each other every once in a while and cherish every moment y'all share. Well, that depends on how much you have going on in your lives as well as your individual independence.
I have been in a relationship with a man for about 2 years, long distance. We have more downs than ups, most likely because we only see eachother on average one weekend a month. But, we keep going because we are not lonely people. He and I both, would be just fine single. We also communicate by IM and the tele.
I wouldn't recommend a long distance relationship to anyone unless you can be satisfied alone.

yes, long distance relationships can work. They do all the time. But really, it all depends on the people. For a long distance relationship to work, there needs to be a REALLY STRONG bond of trust. See, with him so far away, it is hard tot ell weather or not he is being faitful, and same goes for him about you. With the temtation of the flesh, and something that is right there in front of you, things could go wrong. So really, it all comes down to if you trust him or not.
Good luck!

i do, sometimes there is interference on the communication but if both of you will see what is the important in the relationship and achieving the same thing, it will work, me and my bf, only see for 3 mos. apart and stay with him for 3 weeks. But we get along and we trust each other, its my work that why Im away from him.
goodluck!

It depends; is this just a temporary separation, or do you two live in separate towns?
If the latter, it is doomed to failure simply because of the lack of human contact. We all actually need to be with another person; see them; hold them; experience them. In time, someone with whom you are in daily contact with will probably overtake whatever feelings you have for Mr. Long distance. It happens all the time.

long distance relationships test your trust and commitment to each other. for all you know he could have a girl in his apartment/house while your talking to him online. i think they can work if your very open with each other and trust each other but not for a long time.

Define "work" in this particular relationship. Or better yet, what do you expect from it? Only you can answer that. We have no idea what you're looking for. Do you?
