If you are paying for a membership, you might as well get comfortable with the machines that are there and figure out what you like and what seems to target the areas you are trying to work on. Just try a few reps of all the machines that look interesting to you and get comfortable being in there, adding and removing weight, and learning how to use the equipment.
To tone your belly, i would see if they have a Nautical machine. It would look like a bar coming across your chest when you sit down on the machine. You basically do sit ups from a seated position and you can add and remove weight. To tone yourself, use light weight and do several reps and sets. For your thighs and bum, try doing squats or lunges. The squat rack will be the tower looking thing on the walls. Dont do squats by yourself, get someone to show you proper form because you can really hurt yourself if your doing it wrong.

The only way to do that is do interval running to build up fitness and squats, lunges, sit ups, shoulder presses. I also recommend boxing, if there is nothing available take some light weights and shadow box with them. Free weights are far better than machines.
This worked for me and I got it from my PT she is great. I'm female by the way.

Try the cross trainer and the treadmill for your thighs and crunches/sit ups for your abs.
If its only your first time in the gym...dont over do it because your will stiffen up and be sore. Take it easy and build up your workouts.

is there a swimming baths there if so try that you get an all over toning on your body an its enjoyable as well ,or try the tread mill an some weights .
