Some dogs are territorial, others are not. He is still young, so he may start to bark at people in the next few months as he matures, but I wouldn't put much stock in that. Also, he may know that the people who are coming to the door are not a threat.

Be aware that protection training can be a very dangerous thing, especially with a dog that is not meant for it. You are teaching a dog to behave aggressively. A dog who is not able to judge what is a threat and what isn't becomes a weapon when trained to be aggressive to people.

If you want to protect your home, you are better off getting an alarm system.

How long have you had the dog? Sometimes it will take a while for a puppy to be comfortable in their surroundings and realize that they need to protect that "turf". Some dogs are just born friendly and will never bark at strangers.
I had a dog that only barked at two of my daughter's friends when they came over. He loved strangers, and only barked when he sensed danger. Ironically, I had to call the cops on the two people he did bark at some months later.
I certainly hope you are not raising this dog to be aggressive towards all strangers. If he feels comfort and love from you, you will both form a bond and will protect you at all costs.

I don't know how often you walk your dog but take him out and walk him out on the side walk get him familiar with other people and other dogs before he gets older yet... another reason why he doesn't bark at the people that come over is probably because the dog is use to seeing them.
