It seems the price is jumping every week. I'm hooked on the Federal Golds & Rem. STS (both now $70 a flat!) Cheapest around NY is Federal Top Gun @ $39.90 a flat (Gander Mt) Even the Estates have gone up...

Have even been thinking about pulling out the PW & reloading some...

I got an issue of Cabela's shooting catalog last week and there is a note about ammo prices changing daily. The note stated that the world metal market for lead, copper, and other metals used in ammo is fluctuating a great deal and thus the suppliers are having to change the price of their existing ammo supplies to reflect market volatility.

The price for not only trap loads, but anything for the shooting sports is getting outrageous. I stocked up on AA's and STS's last year when Dick's Sporting Goods had them on-sale for $39.98/case and I had coupons on top of that. I haven't looked at their prices in a while, but I know they went up. I wouldn't pay $70 for a flat of shells - I really hope they come down in price by the time I need them next. Then again, I may just reload all my own - 7/8oz of 8 1/2's for singles and double seems to work fine for me - I save shot ($25.99/25lb bag of Lawrence Magnum) by loading 7/8's of an ounce. One ounce of 7 1/2's works fine for my handicap and Annie load (27yds). Just need to find a load your gun likes and stick with it.
