I have two female cats, not yet a year. The oldest, by a few months, has just recently been in heat. Probably at the very end of it. *Is it possible she could have pulled the younger female cat into heat? I have just noticed the sign of her being in heat. Constant meowing, and arching of her back. *Is it pain full? *Are there any home remedies, or something I could do, to help? They seem to be extremely bothered by this. Also, are inside cats supposed to be spayed? Thanks.

THIS TIME OF YEAR IS THE NORMAL BREEDING SEASON FOR CATS. BOTH CATS WERE READY TO COME IN TO HEAT. ASK YOUR VET ABOUT USING MEG ACE TO PREVENT YOUR CATS FROM COMING IN TO HEAT. WE HAVE MAY CLIENTS THAT USE IT AND ARE VERY VERY HAPPY WITH. CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL VETS. IT TAKES APPROX 5MG EACH WEEK.

Cats can start heat cycles at 6 months of age. There is probably no way that the older cat "pulled" the other one into heat. The only "remedy" for heat cycles is getting the cats spayed. Spaying your cats is one of the best things you can do. It makes them better cats , less likely to get mammary cancers and you also don' t have to listen to the heat cycles.

She did not pull her into heat, it was just her time to start. They will do this every 2-3 weeks until you get them spayed.

yes yes yes, I'm sure when you go threw PMS its painful its pretty much the same for the cats, just they are horny all the time. my girlfriends cat has been going in to heat and she just puts the food and water and litter box in the bathroom and lock it in. and yes they do spray because my girlfriend friends cat cheese sprayed all over her sisters bed when she went into heat. lol and you really can't stop a cat from being in heat only sudgustion is to fix them.

Yes Yes Yes to all your questions. The only thing you can do to help them is have them spayed... go call the vet right now in fact. Your girls will live a longer healthier life if you do get them spayed right away!! So show them how much you love them!
