I think you need a councellor first. This behavior may evolve from lack of appreciation of what you did in childhood by your over expecting or never satisfied parents. Your main aim will be here to identify your strengths and weaknesses and nourish the strengths not over think about the weaknesses. You additional aim can be to prepare the studies well ahead, to become aware about your limitations and accept them, to be contended at your performance etc. Wishing your nice prospects this is Dr Giasuddin Sadi, Psychiatrist.

Psychiatry is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental illness. Its primary goal is the relief of mental suffering associated with symptoms of disorder and improvement of mental well-being. This may be based in hospitals or in the community and patients may be voluntary or involuntary. Psychiatry adopts a medical approach but may take in to account biological, psychological, and social/cultural perspectives. Treatment by medication in conjunction with various forms of psychotherapy may be undertaken and has proved most effective in successful treatment. The word 'psychiatry' derives from the Greek for "healer of the spirit".

Most psychiatric illnesses cannot currently be cured, although recovery may occur. While some have short time courses and only minor symptoms, many are chronic conditions which can have a significant impact on a patients' quality of life and even life expectancy, and as such may be thought to require long-term or life-long treatment. Effectiveness of treatment for any given condition is also variable from individual to individual.

I think your reaction was just due to stress and not necessarily all that unusual. However, a pshchologist or councellor may be helpful just to help you in dealing with the stress better. I don't really think you'd need the help of a psychratist, i thinkt hat would be more for someone with a mental disorder in need of medication.

Maybe you're trying to push yourself too hard and it's too much stress for you right now. If you take some time off and come back to it later might be enough, or you might have to think about if your choice of field or study are the right choices for you.

Yes you do need.Or-else try to visit a counsellor, they will help you.I had visited a neurologist for asking some medicenes that can help me for my studies(better concentration and memory).I can give its name if you need it anytime-'Citelec'.Its bit costly. But will help you a lot.Dont worry, just stay calm and why dont you try some meditations meanwhile.

EXAMINE your PHYSICAL INPUTS often times PSYCHIATRISTS are a waste of time if you first do not read FOOD LABELS(ingredients). I mean your brain is a physical ORGAN and it functions on what you PUT IN.

I'd go to a psychologist first. If they think it's bad enough to warrant being on psychotropic medication, they'll refer you to a psychiatrist.
