No.

Wait.

Virtually all businesses are refusing to buy Vista because of the widespread compatibility issues and the additional platform cost. In fact, story came out today that the Department of Transportation had banned Vista, Office 2007, and Internet Explorer 7 because of incompatibility and lack of a compelling business case for any of them. Even Intel just came out and said it wouldn't start using Vista internally until the first service pack came out.

If I was buying a PC today, I'd go out of my way to get it with XP instead of Vista - though I'd still want it "Vista ready".

They never worked all the bugs out of Windows 3.1, 95 A & B, ME, 98, 98SE, or Windows 2000. They will never fix all the bugs in any OS. Every user of any Microsoft product is merely a beta tester for their software. Why do you think the "This program had encountered and error, would you like to send it ti Microsoft?", keeps popping up? They have just become better at handling the erros encountered by users of their operating systems, which is very good!

Vista is brand spanking new, there are always bugs.
Known problems at this time, include basic things like drivers for hardware, software that isn't compatible and the ever popular Vista calling home to Microsoft every time you turn on your machine.

It looks interesting enough, but there simply isn't support for my software for me to consider switching over. Security experts agree, there is no reason to jump on the Vista wagon if you keep your XP up to date.

In the end, whether you use it or not ... that choice is yours.

They never work all the bugs out. That is why they come up with a new operating system every 5 years or so.

I don't think Microsoft will issue another operating system though. With the net, the browser will become the system.

Don't let Apple fool you though. There are almost as many virus attacks against Apples as Win systems. There are just fewer Apples, so the hackers don't write as much for them.

I got it when it came out, and have used it every day without any problems. I like it. I keep hearing "rumors" of compatibility issues, but not one single person that has personally experienced it. Businesses WILL migrate to Vista as soon as it is economically advantageous for them to do so.

my copy seems to be running just fine

here's a thought....install it and see for yourself. If you got a problem then uninstall it. That's what I did and it turned out I didn't have any problems.
